The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC)
is a world-class cultural
complex nestled in the resurging downtown district of
Newark, New
Jersey. As the 6th largest performing arts center in
the United States,
NJPAC is indeed a mark of excellence. NJPAC showcases
the best artists
of national and international acclaim. Since the grand
opening in 1997,
centerstage in NJPAC's two halls -- the 2,750-seat
Prudential Hall and
the 514-seat Victoria Theater -- has been filled by
renowned artists,
cultural icons, and some of the world's most
cherished orchestral,
dance, theater, and instrumental works, as well as the
best performers
from New Jersey's outstanding array of artists and
performing
companies. Some of the artists and productions that
have graced NJPAC's
stages include: Lauryn Hill, Willie Nelson, the New
Jersey Symphony

Search. And in the summer, NJPAC hosts an outdoor
music festival on
Thursday evenings entitled Sounds of the City. The
festival draws
crowds
of approximately 3000 people every week.
