"what it's like to be a christian"
a lady recently being baptized was asked by a coworker what it was like to be a christian. she replied, "it's like being a pumpkin : god picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt you may have gotton from the other pumpkins. then he cuts the top off and scoops out all the yucky stuff. he removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. then he carves you a new smiling face and puts his light inside of you to shine for all the world to see"

At times we feel like giving up and saying, "what’s the use?"
We feel we’ve disappointed God, at least that’s our excuse.
God’s love for us will never change, for the bible tells us so.
Rather than saying "I give up," it’s to God that we should go.We need to humbly kneel to God, and pour out all our sorrow.
Tell Him of our aching heart, and ask His help to face tomorrow.
Tell Him our feelings of loneliness, and the failures we have seen.
Tell Him of our struggles and fears, and confess we feel unclean. We, as Christians, are not exempt from the sins of daily living.
So we need to talk with God in prayer, for He always is forgiving.
He knows each sin that we commit, but He’ll never hide His face.
He loves us and He’ll welcome us back to His throne of grace. If from our heart, we truly repent, God will instantly forgive.
He knows that in this sinful world, a godly life is hard to live.
By nature we are sinful people, and daily battles we’ll always face.
That’s why God in His infinite mercy sent His Son to take our place.Jesus suffered and died on Calvary's cross, to give the gift of grace.
He paid the ultimate price ~ He bore the sins of the human race.
With God's mercy and love, Christians can face what comes each day.
Sins committed have been "paid," for those who have chosen His way.Listen to God's words, describing the kind of relationship He wants to have with you. "The Lord your God is with you ... He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17). That's intimate love, infinite love, and expensive love. God paid the price for that love. In Isaiah 49:15-16, God says: "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I WON'T FORGET YOU! See, I have you engraved on THE PALMS OF MY HANDS." For Jesus, that engraving is the nail prints in His hands from the day He died to pay for your sins so you could be forgiven-so you could belong to the one whose love, for whom, you were made. Because He walked out of His grave, HE'S ALIVE. He's offering you the greatest love in the universe. But ONE-WAY LOVE doesn't make a relationship. He's waiting to hold you, but you have to reach for Him. God says that means putting your TOTAL TRUST IN JESUS to be your personal rescuer from the death penalty for your sins. The wall that's between you and God comes down when you tell Him, "I'M YOURS." You are very, very close to experiencing the love that you have been looking for so very long. JUST OPEN UP YOUR HEART TO THE KING OF KINGS. SAY YES, to His LORDSHIP. This invitation has ETERNAL RAMIFICATIONS.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

www.hostdrjack.comKey Passage: Matthew 12:22-37
Topic: Jesus; Evil"But if I am casting out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you. For who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man like Satan and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger--someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house" (Matthew 12:28-29, NLT).We tend to look at the battle between Jesus and Satan as a match between equals. Like two boxing champs who are similar in weight, height and, hopefully, skill. So, the fight could go either way.But that's not really the case. Satan may throw his weight around, brag up his abilities; but he's always outmatched and overpowered by Jesus. Even at a word, Jesus can throw off the evil one.He does it here, with a man possessed by a demon that had made him blind and mute. But with a single command, the demon is tossed out and the man's sight and voice are restored. You may be caught up in addictions, bad habits and the influence of evil in your life. You may feel like you're chained up and weighted down, that Satan's too strong and you'll never get free from his power. But you don't have to live this way.Call on Jesus. He is the greater power, the strong man who can overcome the forces of evil. And when He comes into your life, He "cleans house" so the Holy Spirit can take up residence. You see, you now belong to God. The things that have a hold on you are replaced with what's good and true and light and free.Look at 1 John 4:4: "You belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world" (NLT).Jesus is the greatest; His power is far beyond anything Satan can muster. And with Him in your life, victory is a sure thing!

-I'm Taking Back This Mountain!- I will not lose the ground I've gained, Even when life's burdens cause me pain. I know God's will is not by chance, And so I will not get focused on circumstance. From miry clay He brought me out, And I will not fear, and I will not doubt. No longer will I be held captive to fear, For God is listening with an attentive ear. And the promises that His Word has given, Will keep me fed, and will keep me driven. And upon His Word will I meditate, And to His will, No longer, will I hesitate. For God is faithful, and He will not allow, Temptations to come that I cannot face now. I will not be bound by the chains of worry, For the God that's in me, fears not Satan's fury. I will keep that lying enemy in His place, And I will continue to run this race. My mind will forever be stayed upon the Lord, And my battles will be won, with the sharpness of my sword. I will study, and read, and continue to grow, So that the broken in spirit, can feel the precious flow. Goodbye to bondage, and hello to power, For surely the Lord's anointing has met me this hour. I boldly shout to the heavens above, With a thankful spirit, and a heart full of love. Lead me Dear Lord, give me drink from Your fountain, And be with me as I go and take back this mountain! THE BIBLE.....an it's the best one ever written!!!!!I asked God to take away my habit. God said, No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up. I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said, No. His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary. I asked God to grant me patience. God said, No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations It isn't granted, it is learned. I asked God to give me happiness. God said, No. I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you. I asked God to spare me pain. God said, No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me. I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said, No. You must grown on your own!, but I will prune you to make you fruitful. I asked God for all things that I might enjoy in life. God said, No. I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things. I asked God to help me LOVE all others, as much as HE loves me. God said....Ahhhh, finally you have the idea. THIS DAY IS YOURS DON'T THROW IT AWAY May God Bless You, Today and AlwaysMyspace Contact TablesLast Week I threw out Worrying, it was getting old and in the way. It kept me from being me; I couldn't do things God's way. I threw out a book on MY PAST (didn't have time to read it anyway). Replaced it with NEW GOALS, started reading it today. I threw out hate and bad memories, (remember how I treasured them so)? Got me a NEW PHILOSOPHY too, threw out the one from long ago. Brought in some new books too, called I CAN, I WILL, AND I MUST. Threw out I might, I think and I ought. WOW, you should've seen the dust. I ran across an OLD FRIEND, haven't seen him in a while. I believe his name is GOD, Yes I really like His style. He helped me to do some cleaning and added some things Himself. Like PRAYER, HOPE AND FAITH, Yes I placed them right on the shelf. I picked up this special thing and placed it at the front door. I FOUND IT- its called PEACE. Nothing gets me down anymore. Yes, I've got my house looking nice. Looks good around the place. For things like Worry and Trouble there just isn't any space. Its good to do a little house cleaning, get rid of the things that don't belong on the shelf. It sure makes things brighter; maybe you should TRY IT YOURSELF. BE BLESSED AND BE A BLESSING TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!! May the Lord open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that you will not have room enough to receive it all. Malachi 3:10.
jesus an all the people who've died professing his love for the world.
