Myspace LayoutsGrowing up in Sydney, Mikey Hayman’s music career began in various High School original bands but it wasn’t long before he realised that a functional career as a working musician lay in covers band and corporate performances.He quickly aligned himself with successful tribute and covers bands such as The Beatnix and The Challenge before moving to The Gold Coast where he continued his professional development.For several years, Mikey worked as a freelance singer and soloist in clubs, pubs and then travelled to Adelaide to perform at The Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix.Mikey stayed in Adelaide for 5 years enjoying the blues circuit and it there he became involved in the highly successful Soul Commitments and finely tuned his corporate performances.Eventually succumbing to the call of the Queensland sun, Mikey returned to The Gold Coast from where he based a very successful few years of performance with Ground Hog, PUMP, Hedonism, Dr Strangelove and solo performances at such venues as NRL Half Time Shows, major hotels and corporate venues from The Sunshine Coast to Melbourne.Finally settling in Cairns, Mikey has refined his performances with bands such as Johno’s Blues Band, The M Zone, Mikey & The Mekanix and the evergreen Windy City Soul Train, who still perform several times a weeks in venues from Cairns to Darwin and down to Alice Springs.Mikey Hayman has developed a successful career as a dynamic vocalist and accomplished guitarist who’s repertoire contains over 1500 songs, covering Big Band, Swing, Blues, Rock’n’Roll, Soul, Disco, Pop, Country & Western, Rock, Grunge and Modern Rock and his performances range from Subtle & Smooth to Polished & Professional to Raunchy & Rocky, depending on the occasion and setting.In his career, Mikey has had the distinct pleasure of working with and supporting such acts as Jimmy Barnes, Christine Anu, Tim Finn, Ross Wilson, Rhonda Birchmore, Darryl Sumers, Colleen Hewitt, Phil Emmanuel, Dave Gleeson, Rose Tattoo, Grinspoon, The Choirboys, Powderfinger and many, many more.Mikey has a enviable database of professional musicians and vocalists at his disposal, enabling him to perform any show from a solo performance to a beautifully orchestrated big band, once again depending on the client’s requirements.Mikey is self managed and can be contacted through MySpace, on (+61) 0407 644 477 or
