Times Nine

Chi Iota Chi (2005-2007)

About Me

Times Nine was originally formed in February of 2005. The band is comprised of 4 former members (JM, Byron, Mr. C, and Sideburns) of the wildly unpopular punk act Third World Riot: 3 of which members originally played together in the Pseudo-band called Ketchup Packet Homicide.
After TWR broke up in the summer of 2004, the call went out for a drummer. Several months later it was answered by a Czech import appropriately named Mike Czech. After some debate, the new band name was solidified. Soon after that, the boys went to work at new songs. Given that Third World Riot was a pitfall of failure, the sound of this new band would have to be a distinct change from that. Therefore, they weaned themselves on a steady diet of early 80s HC/Punk and tried to assimilate it into a new sound. Drawing influences from bands such as the Circle Jerks, Black Flag, Minor Threat; and newer material like Vision and Kill Your Idols; we are left with Times Nine.
In the end, the band boils down to 5 people who like to have fun playing music. Despite their hectic schedules, the band has time to play with such acts as Leftover Crack and Big D and the Kid’s Table.
We are currently looking for a label/disto/comps if interested contact us.Times Nine is either on hiatus or broken up. No one is really sure. However, there is a small side project called "Slaymaker" featuring John, Louis, and a keyboard that might be making some noise soon. Check it out here
