About Me

Take the QuizHow funny that this survey says Beyonce is my soulmate! I guess on the surface, we could have some things in common. To me, Beyonce seems very girly and that's me... down to my sign of Virgo! She loves Paris and fashion; so do I! I adore the show Project Runway and have every intention to learn how to sew straight away! I love all things creative and artistic (dance, art, music, the theater, literature) and I seek to incorporate these loves into my daily life constantly. And finally, Beyonce seems pretty independent. So am I! I live my life on the go all about town and all around the world... and usually all by myself! It's cool. You would be amazed how many fascinating people you meet as a single woman travelling solo... and how many fast friends you can make. Wanna know more? Check out my photos & blogs!

My Interests

Music, Art & DANCE!

I'd like to meet:

Take the QuizWho wouldn't want to meet a guy like Will Smith? The survey says that he is my male celebrity soulmate! Of course, I like to meet all kinds of people. I prefer to hang around people who are actually interesting though. Define interesting? Well that would be capable of creative, logical and independent thought, open-minded, kind and enjoying life just for the sake of it!

Music:

Hip Hop, Classical, New Age, Reggae, World, Alternative Rock & Pop

Movies:

STUFF I JUST SAW (Lots of titles currently, thanks to flying internationally!): August Rush (great music!), No Country for Old Men (had to watch it twice and not too sure yet I have figured it out), Mr. Magorium's Wonder Imporium (can anyone say Willy Wonka meets Dr. Who?) CURRENT MUST SEES: The Great Debaters LEGACY MUST SEES: A Princess Bride, Serenity & A Knight's Tale (Heath Ledger, RIP)

Television:

Love to watch: Randy Jackson presents America's Best Dance Crew (Hooray Jabbawakkees!), MythBusters, CNN & HEROES! Can't watch: GHOSTHUNTERS (Just thinking about this show freaks me out!)

Books:

Being a teacher, I am always reading A LOT of books and hardly ever of my own choosing. Yet I do believe that reading is essential. I highly recommend Anderson Cooper's DISPATCHES FROM THE EDGE. Currently, I am enjoying reading Elizabeth Gilbert's EAT, PRAY, LOVE (a gift from my landlady). Recently I also picked up THE HISTORIAN, 1776, and THE DAVINCI CODE (in French).

Heroes:

My Mom, my Dad, my brother, my 2nd through 8th grade teachers, and my great aunt Sis.

Who wants to do this with me?

Okay, first you have to watch this: The "Thriller" dance is actually not all that hard to learn, well, okay, you do have to have some talent for dance and of course, some rhythm, but you can ...

A dance for my Mom

I had the luxury of using this sequence to highlight a lesson on jazz that I was teaching to my French 4 class.  We were discussing the influence of African-American jazz on French popular music.  I r...
