Minister Anita Pickens was born and raised in Philadelphia PA. She is currently a member of The New Consolation Christian Center located in Philadelphia PA, under the leadership of Apostle David J. and Pastor Yvette Gaines.
Minister Pickens gave her life to Christ on July 5, 1987 at the Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Frederick L. Bowers. She served on the Missionary Board for two years then went on to served as a youth leader, believing if we don’t invest in our youth, then there’s the future of the church.
In 1994 Minister Pickens relocated to South Philadelphia and became a member of New Comfort Ministries International under the leadership of Pastors Tyrone and Dana Kilgoe. There she served as a Sunday school teacher and taught Bible study. In 1999 NCMI was blessed with new Pastors, David J. and Yvette Gaines, While serving under their leadership, She served as the ministry leader for the Women Ministry, Daughters of Destiny Ministry for numerous years as well as taught in the Education department.
In December 2003 Anita was licensed to minister the Gospel, under the leadership of Pastors David J. and Yvette Gaines of New Consolation Christian Center. Anita strongly believes the best position in the Kingdom of God is servant hood.
Anita teaches in the education dept of NCCC, She has taught Foundations for Christian Growth classes, God’s Plan for your life and Discipleship classes. She has a passion to work with the Prison and Nursing Home ministries, believing- though you may be physically bound, you are still spiritually FREE in Christ.
Anita is the Owner & Founder of A.P.M.I Ministries & The Glorious Stage Presence Drama Center. She’s also the designer & Creator of Kingdom Creations (a Christian) attire appareal line. She’s Fasting Coordinator of Women2Women; a ministry helping hurting women. Anita is currently an active leader of the fellowship entity women’s ministry of NCCC called Women Staying Connected.
Anita is the proud mother of 4 children; Talisha, Anesha, Aaron and Amir.
Anita also mother’s a number of spiritual daughters in the faith.Anita’s desire is to bring the body of Christ into unity through the bond of peace. Not my will, but never the less, thy will be done.
