About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)Alphane Moon: ‘Where the Hazel grows’ composed and recorded at Glynllifon, March 2007 for the John Barleycorn Reborn CD.Words based upon the free verse poetry of 17th century Welsh poet Richard Hughes as translated by H. Idris Bell:Cuckoos I Know where the hazels grow, And could I sleep in their feathers deep God knows how blest were there my rest. Without it I must surely die. O to be laid in primrosed glade, Where round my head birch leaves were spread, And daisies pied my cheeks should hide, Red roses rest upon my breast, And roses white my heart bedight, The roses’ pride bedeck my side, And rosemary my girdle be, And bugle sweet cover my feetThe tune incorporates the ancient Welsh tune ‘Conset y peipar Coch’.
