KEROBIA has a new album titled 'Papera eta kartoia' ('Paper and cardboard'), which has been presented to public on 26 May 2009. This work is the fourth of the band, and also the second volume of a trilogy started a year ago with the publication of 'Materia organikoa eta gainerakoak' ('Organic matter and rest'). This three albums are based on the three types of thrash containers in our town, Pamplona. They are published under a Creative Commons license with noncommertial purposes by our own discographic company called 'Y las ardillas mágicas'. You can find the two first strikes of the trilogy in our web page www.kerobia.com where they are available for FREE DOWNLOADING, together with some other material published regularly. Now it's available the video clip of the song 'Nondik irtetzen da barrura' ('What is the way out to the inside'). You can also make a contribution to the project via Paypal, but you don't need to do it in order to be able to download our music.
Kerobia is a band formed by Xabi bandini (guitar and vocals), Mikel Zorrilla (drums), Alberto Isaba (bass) and Mikel Isaba (keyboards).
This group from Iruña was created in the last month of 2001 when Xabi, Mikel and Germán San MartÃn (former keyboardist) put together. They worked as a three-people band until January 2003 when Karlos Ortiz joined the band as a bass player. With this formation they published their first album: Kerobia (2004, GOR), album that won the 'Gazte saria' award to the best album of the year in Euskal Herria. After the album's presentation tour, in December 2005 they started to work in their second album and Karlos Ortiz left the band, being replaced by Alberto Isaba on the bass guitar.
With this new formation the second album was published: Rose Escargot (2006, GOR). After being on stages until the end of 2007 Germán left the group and Mikel Isaba joined at the keys.
Soon afterwards Kerobia starts a new project: the recording of a trilogy of albums of aproximately twenty minutes length that give as a result a sole discographic work, with more than an hour of music. The connecting thread is the thrash container. We have them in three colours, one for each album, and have already published two of them. The project is foreseen to last three years, and during this time the band alternates working in the recording studio with live concerts.
In April 2008 the first strike of the trilogy is published: Materia organikoa eta gainerakoak (2008, Y LAS ARDILLAS MÃGICAS). One year after, in April 2009, the band obtains the 'Gazte saria' award to the best music group in Euskal Herria, sharing the prize with singer Amaia Montero.
In May 2009 the second part of the trilogy has seen the light under the title 'Papera eta kartoia'. Immediately the presentation tour begins, which spreads until November. In order to bring this new album's music to the stages guitarist Ruben Matilla has joined the band recently.
