About Me

Rosedale Crossing was born on the 4th May 2006 at Quad Studios , Friday Street, Leicester.

Jon, Bob and Dunc had been playing together for the previous 6 years in blues-rock outfit SoulMonkey. Early writing sessions suggested an acoustic-based approach without the blues-exclusivity upon which SoulMonkey was focused. Whilst there remained an overall desire to keep a jam-based feel to the project, more structured songs were needed to complement the new sound and the band spent nearly nine months in weekly rehearsals prior to performing live for the first time.

The resulting output is a mixture of country, bluegrass, blues, americana and good old English folk. Pigeon-hole it if you can...
