I've started djing in 1999 with underground hiphop music, concentrating on improving my scratching and turntablism skills at first. After a while, in 2001, I joined the Chilla Guerilla crew, which consisted of 12 members from south germany - mostly writers. Big up to Index, Kiam 77, Koner for their paintings !!! And to MZA for his parties!!!
Anyway... from 2001 on I did some support djing for Aufnahmezustand, Mars MC and some other crews - check out the "Mars and Beatknecht - Feierabend Freestyle Tape"! After doing my thing in Edinburgh for half a year or so, I moved to Freiburg and started djing under the name of Dj MadTrix in 2003. Since then I've been playing in different clubs and locations around Freiburg, namely the F-Club, Waldsee, Z!, Nachtschicht, Soundcity Festival 06/07, Ganter Brauerei, Unity Festival, etc.
There were also some collaborations with other musicians like the "Artnormal" band from Freiburg. That was some funky shit, I can tell you for sure (THX 2 Simon, Arthur, Dominique)!
In 2007 I launched the Beatknecht Radioshow on echo FM. Check it out, every monday 8pm: UKW 88,4 in Freiburg or www.echo-fm.de
At the moment I'm really into electronic music. Primarily minimal, tech house and breakz. Watch out for new dates if you're interested - it's worth it!
