.. Charlotte & The Co-Stars was formed in 2001, by singer Charlotte Jacobsen. After a period with frequent changes of band members, the line up stabilised in august 2004, including Jacobsen (vocals, ac. guitar) , Nils Aasheim (el.guitar), Audun Nedrelid (keys), Aleksander Haugen (bass) and Arvid Nordstrand (drums). In the fall of 2007, Aasheim was replaced by Ralf Lofstad on guitar.
Her signature is songs with warm blooded nerve, and the music is melancholic with sharp edges. The expression is influenced by dusty highways as well as the classical singer/songwriter tradition.
In January 2006, the band started recording their debut album, with Alex Kloster Jensen (Ricochets, My Midnight Creeps) and Frode Jacobsen (Madrugada) shearing the producer’s chair. The album material was recorded in april the same year, however the album was not released for yet a year and a half, due to lack of a label to release it. But in the summer of 2007 Charlotte & The Co-Stars got their deal with Bonnier Amigo, and in August the track Hi Ho Silver from the album was listed on several radio stations. On October 15, the album Win Love Win was released, and was well received by both critics and audience.
The band members have experience from different bands, such as The Captain & Me, Violet Scene, My Sensational Panda and Still Doing Sky.
