Flavia Lazzarini is a key figure in the Rome music scene playing in the best clubs in the capital. She demonstrates her musical creativity through a multitude of sounds that touch on diverse styles ranging from the glamour of bossa to the soft atmosphere of jazz to the bold beat of house. To describe what she does as ‘mixing’ is to simplify her work to the minimum. Mixing, blending, fusing and above all researching are the elements that come together to generate an emotional wave that sweeps through the audience.
She started working in 1990 inspired by trips to America. In fact, dual citizenship gives her the possibility of dividing her time between Rome and New York drawing on historical roots as well as underground culture. She has a degree in law, but her objective is the ‘console’. At present Flavia Lazzarini is focussed on experimenting with new sounds, researching and digging deep into unpublished musical works with the aim of creating and producing a CD.
Flavia is responsible for the musical page of the official RAI web site www.rainews24.it, she has worked as musical consultant for Mediaset and was resident dj for the television series Sex and the City.
Her work in the last few years has included the selection and adaptation of musical pieces for short films and documentaries.
Since 1990 she has also regularly played in the best Italian clubs: Modo, Supperclub, La Suite, La Maison, Es Hotel, Goa, La Palma, Blucheese, Akab (Rome); Magazzini Generali, Fitzcarraldo (Milan);Zoculture (Catania); La Cuba (Palermo); Ruvido (Bologna);Marabù, Cabana (Taormina), Mavù, Bolina Lounge bar (Bari); Apecarica (Lucca); WMC2004 (Miami); Republic (Salzsburg); Pacha (Madrid); Folies Pigalle (Paris); Historical Museum of Moscow (Moscow).
Her “installation sonore†are requested by the most exclusive private parties (Nokia Club Party, Telecom, Wind, Chrysler&Jeep, Ford Party, MINI Party,Absolut Vodka, Miss Sixty Party, Bar Capitolino, Internazionali di Tennis, Grimaldi e Giardina, Parties for Simply Red, Depeche Mode, John Bon Jovi, Emanuelle Seigner), openings of important stores (L’altra Moda, Mbc, Vic Matiè, I-D), Venice Film Festival 2005/2006/2007 and contemporary arts’ vernissages (MACRO, Galleria Comunale d’Arte Moderna, Fondazione Adriano Olivetti, Accademia di Francia, Teatro India).
Since 1999 her dj sets have become real art events: one-of-a-kind engagements where her musical experience has been blended with video installations and theatre-dance performances.
Recently she has also become an organizer of musical events (concerts, dj set, glam nights). Infact she organized the “Festival between lounge n’ bossa†inside Enzimi 2002 and Enzimi 2003/2004.
Presently Flavia Lazzarini’s artistic research is based on the experimentation of new sounds, testing the unusual fusion of different musical genders, in order to create her own musical production.
