The Micropops is a fresh happy/mystic-pop-electro band from Bergen. Håkon Njøten is joined by Bjarte on the drums, Simen on bass, Line on everything else and a serious minichoir with moves; Sofie and Erlend.
After a few years of writing and singing songs on my own, I (Håkon) made my first songs in “The micropops†genre in the autumn of 06. When I realized that I only wanted to play this kind of music, I knew a new project had to be put into life. In the summer of 2007, at the worlds.. wettest Roskilde Festival ever, I drank beer and ate popcorn, and the name “The micropops†came to mind.
I started making pop-electro-demos in my bedroom, we played a few small gigs, and a clear view of what “The Micropops†was started to form.
PS: The moves made by the minichoir are suppost to be simular.
In may, we became "ukens urørt" (song of the week, in the music-underground in Norway) with our single; Moonlight. The scandinavian record label Bonnier Amigo heard the song, and two weeks later The Micropops were signed in Norway.
Our Debut Album is called "Nintendo or devotion".
