Here are three original tracks cut in September 2005, in Los Angeles. Pink Plastic Heart was written in St. Louis at the beginning of summer 05, it bled out just when I needed a live number with a little juice behind it. Lights of Mexico came to me in Acapulco in the Spring 04, I remember flying into Mexico City and looking through the airplane window and seeing those city lights that went on forever. Fourteen was written in the spring of 03 in Champaign, just thinking about that feeling at the beginning of a crisp fall in high school, the girls I knew then, and getting up in the morning and pressing play on Astral Weeks, first thing.
