About Me

RedBurd Jr.
St. Louis act RedBurd Jr. has already established a reputation for being a hitmaker. After paying dues behind the scenes as writer for hip-hop group The Allstars, Burd kicked off a solo project, having garnered praise and an augmented reputation thanks to work on The Allstars' “All City” album. The solo act – The Beautiful People's Club – set out to promote and solidify local talent into a formidable front, getting the names and sounds of deserving acts into the limelight. Burd worked with Lil Webbie, Bun B, Styles P., Akon, Chingy, Murphy Lee, Ebony Eyez, J Shin, Juelz Santana and others. Burd is a member of The Hassles (Hassle Life LLC) and has nabbed praise in a variety of print publications.
Exhilaration
RedBurd Jr. describes his passion for music as exhilarating. Music is something that turns on every nerve in hisDONOTBLOCKOURADS body and heightens his awareness, both mental and physical. It takes him to new heights, imbuing energy and catharsis. The brilliance of Burd's music is that through it he is able to bring these same stellar sensations to his listeners, creating a union of artist and audience that is rare indeed.
Finish Your Thought
Too many artists, RedBurd believes, tap into a good idea with a song but never bring it to full fruition. That's why there are a lot of good musicians, but few greats. Burd is among the greats because he believes in writing music that is well-rounded, deep, textured and rich. “Make every song a complete thought.” In addition, loyalty to one's self and one's vision is incredibly important. Lacking the strength to carry out one's vision will interfere with the creative process. Burd has that strength and urges all, artist and listener alike, to “stay true!” Believe in yourself, he says. People who do offer him inspiration for his music. “I'm inspired by other people who believe in themselves and keep moving through other people's doubt, hate, and lack of support to go on and achieve their goals.”
The Artist at Work
RedBurd Jr. has been declared the next big hit to come out of the St. Louis area. Those were the words of great American music columnist Chris King. King is proving to be a prophet. Burd is always writing and in the studio hammering away on new music. “I live in the studio. I want to be sure when the day comes, I have whatever it is they are looking for. My current project I am recording is a hip-rock album.” Writing and recording is busy work. “I write for other artists in addition to my own songs.” When he's not busy making new songs, he's out networking, keeping alive a flourishing list of industry contacts. And fans should watch for the forthcoming release of “Do You Remember the 90s?” with its instant classic single, “A Fool for Hip-Hop.” RedBurd Jr. is currently working with A&R Select, the hottest indie A&R firm in Hollywood, CA.
“RedBurd Jr. is a hard-working man. It takes a lot of blood, sweat and tears to make this much music and to make it all this good.” - A&R Select
