Born and raised on the musically rich Southern Shore of Newfoundland, Jackie Sullivan is a talented songstress who is stirring attention across Canada and the United States. Jackie's professional music career began in 1994 in British Columbia. It was there that Jackie teamed up with singer/songwriter Art Pruce, from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Together, they entertained enthusiastic audiences throughout the B.C. folk circuit and received rave reviews. One article in the Kamloops Daily News read "Duo's Sound Wins Over Fans."In 1997, Jackie returned to Newfoundland and quickly emerged onto the St. John's music scene. She brought her solo show to many well established live music venues and appeared on numerous well known festivals. Jackie has shared the stage with such acts as The Ennis Sisters, Ron Hynes, Alan Doyle, Evans & Doherty, The Fables and Makem & Clancy. Furthermore, she has been a guest on many radio and television programs including The Performance Hour on CBC.In 2002, all of Jackie's hard work paid off. In April of that year, Jackie was selected to participate in the prestigious JunoFest in St. John's. She was then chosen to headline the province's Emerging Artist Tour, where she captured the attention of media and fans. One local reporter wrote..." she charmed the audience into bursts of laughter, while her voice often brought silence to every attentive fan...". In July 2002, Jackie released the long awaited debut album "Out of the Rain" to a packed house! Produced by singer/songwriter Barry Canning, "Out of the Rain" is a unique and rare combination of folk/pop grooves, with a strong root influence. The strength of Jackie's original material and of the debut album has become apparent. In November 2002, Jackie was nominated for five music industry awards for her solo efforts. She was then named Female Artist of the Year and the CBC Galaxie Rising Star. However, Jackie's success did not end there. In February 2003, Jackie participated in the East Coast Music Awards. She performed at several different venues throughout Halifax and hosted the Sneak Peak Stage. It was there that she caught the attention of Brian Patrone, President of Britton Management in Philadelphia and was approached to join their roster of artists.In late 2003 Jackie released "Out of the Rain" in British Columbia.
