MySpace: Making stalking okay in the 21st century

About Me

What can I say??? I grew up in the trendy Montreal area of Mile- End before it was trendy and then moved to Toronto before it became the trend amongst all my anglo Montrealer friends. So I suppose you could say that A)I'm a trendsetter and that everybody wants to be like me or B)that the real estate market went up and none of my friends could finds jobs...I like option A better! Anyhow, as it stands, I just got back from doing some development work in Africa and am currently looking for another similar job abroad. In the meantime while I find my own personal way to save the world I'm spending my nights slingling drinks to bankers and scensters alike, painfully ironic no?Oh yeah, I'm also the last person on earth to sign up to MySpace.

My Interests

Reading, writing, traveling, taking pictures (photography sounds too pretentious!), and saving the world!

Music:

This is a tough one, it really depends on the mood I'm in. I like chilling out or cooking to music like Coltrane, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, and Sinatra (gotta love Sinatra). If I'm feeling sad or melancholic I tend to veer towards Silvio Rodriguez, Buena Vista Social Club, and pretty much anything sappy and spanish (I am half Mexican I can't help it!)As for the rest of the time I have to admit that I love cheesy hip hop and top 40 for long road trips, singing along to The Strokes, K-os, or Bob Marley in the shower, and when I'm a really stressed out a little Beethoven does the trick. I know, all very random.

Movies:

Amores Perros, City of God, Scarface, The God Father I & II (don't get me started on the third!), Most of Almodovar's movies, and of course Borat!

Television:

Lost, Grey's Anatomy, Law and Order, Family Guy, and pretty much anything alse I can obsessively watch on DVD since I got rid of my cable!

Books:

One Hundred Years of Solitude, Race Against Time, Shake Hands with the Devil, A Fine Balance, Jitterbug Perfume, Love in the Time of Cholera, Fire on the Mountain, and most poetry written by Neruda.

Heroes:

Nelson Mandela, Stephen Lewis, and pretty much anyone who doesn't own a Blackberry.
