King Hyper first started experimenting with music back in 1993, on his 14th birthday his dad known as Fatherufus gave him his old NAD amplifier & one turntable. He was also taught and inspired by his younger brother known as Lasco B where they joined forces and formed a small sound system called Wave Superior.
King Hyper then went on to collect many different records by various artists and the first of many that king hyper purchased was a track voiced by an entertainer called Merciless track entitled Lady Glamorous, King Hyper’s local record shop was called earth vibes and was the reason for him getting home hours late from school!
King Hyper earned his name from his early days at Hatchamwood secondary school because he was one of many schoolboys with the name hyper but there was always something that was quite superior about him and the way how he approached things, he always had a hyperactive attitude so the elder students crowned him king of the hype ness.
One thing about king hyper that everybody loves is that versatility is his middle name and whenever he enters the dancehall he is such a calm character that nobody knows what to expect from him but one thing the crowd is always sure of is that King Hyper always delivers! King Hyper specialises in all types of music. With reggae, Bashment , Hip Hop & RNB being his favourite he also plays other music such as: soul, rare Groove and a touch of calypso & soca. He’s musical talent is loved in queens New York!
King Hyper is an individual that isn’t just talented in music, but he is a qualified fashion designer who studied at the London college of fashion plus he has excellent hand craft barbering & hairdressing skills that is put to the test in the battle of the barbers completion at the Wahl afro hair & beauty show.
When he is not djing at clubs and parties he often likes to play football, work out in the gym or go cinema and play video games with he’s 7 lovely children otherwise known as the Hype Squad.

King Hyper’s 1st playout was at peckhams famous pub THE RED BULL, on that night he played alongside a few of south London’s best sounds, Lord Gellys, Fat Larry, 3s company. King Hyper & Lasco B played approximately 30 minutes of hardcore bashment and for every tune they played there were consecutive forwards, king hyper’s final tune of his round was a dub plate voiced by red squares Spragga Benz which left the crowed chanting away!
RADIO:
King Hyper has been on various radio stations such as Genesis FM, Power Jam, Whoa FM, Invincible Radio. King Hyper has also made guest appearances on legal radio stations such as Natty B’s chart show on Choice Fm & Chris Goldfinger’s Reggae Dancehall Night on BBC Radio 1 where he was joined by his X - musical partner in crime Allan Brando.
King Hyper now plays on www.metroloveradio.com or 92.2 on the FM band Wednesday Evenings 7 - 9 (Oldskool Dancehall) & Friday Evenings 9 - 11 (Upfront Dancehall) which is The Mobile Top up & CD Giveaway Show.
FAVOURITE DANCEHALL MOMENTS:
King Hyper’s favourite dancehall event was when he played alongside he’s favourite sound system called Bass Odyssey in the meantime lounge. Another memorable moment for king hyper was when he played alongside the world immortal stone love movements in lefez night club.
For the time King Hyper has been playing music he has played alongside loads of different top sounds from all over the world such as Stone Love, Fire Links, Metro Media, Tony Matterhorn, he also had a dub for dub contest with Travellers sound and Don Angelo at club Lex.
