Lake Fork Verne

About Me

I am a 75 year old banjo player and singer from Valley Park, Mo. I was born near Lake Fork Township (Illinois) many years ago; and draw from my upbringing in the early thirties till present. Much remeniscing, I admit to; but want to get some of it recorded for those interested in those times, especially for my grand children. Many of my friends from Country Tabs have helped me along in presenting my material, and I want to get them listed as "friends" on this page, when I learn how to do it. Meanwhile thanks for the space and a chance to show my wares. I am big, big fan of John Hartford ("Gentle on My Mind"), Billy Joe Shaver, Merle Haggard, Lefty Frizzell, John Prine, and Jimmie Rodgers, to name a few./data="http://ezfolk.com/audio/include/flash/ds_small_pl ayer.swf?playlist_url=http%3A%2F%2Fezfolk.com%2Faudio%2Fplay .php%3Fmode%3Dsong_hifi%26type%3Dxspf%26song_id%3D10021"http ://img340.imageshack.us/img340/1154/mtsadfromgravelroadcy1.j pg I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace) I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)

Fetch it on Down to My House Daddy

I ran across this on You Tube the other day.  Has some catchy lyrics and nice sound to me.  Will try to get lyrics to put the chords to it so I can give it a try.

I'll Be Home for Christmas

This is one of my favorites for the holidays...I really like how John Prine does it..Will work on that next few days, to remind me of those brave souls over in Iraq.
