Without further a due I present to the world Mr. “More Than A DJ†DJ Kunseit. The young DJ, producer, songwriter, and promoter is ready to expose the world to mind-blowing talent. DJ Kunseit bornRoddy Tate of Durham, NC discovered his passion for music at the age of nine. As a child Kunseit and his younger brother (Lik Skyy) produced their first tracks using a tape recorder and a boom box. Until the two saved up enough money to buy a multi-track recorder they made the best with what they had.
In the early years of his career Kunseit focused more on being a rap artist. It wasn’t until Kunseit met QC’s own Sport E. Odie and DJ Cease Fire when he decided he wanted to become a DJ. Kunseit met the DJ/host duo through his sister who attended Winston Salem State University with the two. Sport and Cease Fire took the young Kunseit under their wings and the rest is history. Kunseit’s grandmother bought his first turntables in 2002 when he was 14 years old. Kunseit practiced daily and made blend tapes to pass out at school.
Once Kunseit built up a fan base he began to DJ small neighborhood parties. In 2004 Kunseit started school at Elon University. During his freshman year Kunseit would blend songs with his dorm door open not knowing his normal practice routine would be the start of his fame. After Kunseit gained a little popularity on campus his buzz began to grow throughout Winston Salem, Greensboro, and his hometown Durham, NC.
In 2006 Kunseit met a young aspiring DJ by the name of DJ Kutta. DJ Kutta reminded Kunseit of himself a few years earlier so Kunseit coached Kutta through his rookie experiences. Shortly after meeting, Kunseit and Kutta started a group called KOK (Kayz of Krunk) Music Group. The two began to host/DJ parties and mixtapes and established a fan base up and down the east coast.
In 2007 Kunseit was scouted by, his mentor, DJ Cease Fire to be a member of the entertainment company Shok-Da-Mas. Since being inducted Kunseit has released mixtapes featuring mainstream artist such as Streetz, DJ Drama, MIMS, and many more. Kunseit has also scratched the surface of the industry and is taking the game by storm until he is granted that one chance. Until then be on the look out for DJ Kunseit on a computer near you.
