Crashing Jupiter

About Me

Crashing Jupiter was formed in 2006, by Matt Brozovich and John Devlin from Scorn of Earth. Members include Erik Register of Sideways Eight, Travis Iddings of Silverlace, and Jim Drenning. The band has many different styles with many years of experience. We have been compared to 30 Seconds to Mars, Breaking Benjamin and Sevendust.

*****We want to give a very special thanks to Chad Szeliga of Breaking Benjamin for co-writting Myself. Also thanks to Mike and Matt at PRECISION AUDIO for the wonderful job that they did on our recording. ***********

Grand Opening of The Lighthouse w/Dirty Kitten

There were 3 bands lined up for the day (including DK). The first band up was a group of guys out of Pittsburgh, CRASHING JUPITER. This was a kick ass alt/emo rock band that has some serious musicianship. I am talking all the way from the duel guitar assault to the very strong voiced vocalist, seriousness. With the size of the staging area of the Lighthouse there wasn't much room for the band to do a whole lot of moving, especially with 5 guys in the band. I will say it is bigger than The Smiling Moose or Howler's. So instead of being able to rely on flash they had to fall back on plain and simple good song writing and musical execution. The band had it together, unfortunately the sound system was having a hissy fit all day.

Back to CRASHING JUPITER…they played a very enjoyable 50 minute or so set. Their sound is like a cross between Sevendust meets Breaking Benjamin. The heavy guitar tones are just enough…not METAL per se, but not Panic at the Disco either. Personally on of my favorite songs lyrically and musically is "myself. You can actually here a decent version on their myspace. www.myspace.com/crashingjupitermusic . The only constructive criticism I could offer, is to lead singer Jim Drenning….show just a little more emotion. Your songs are AMAZING, very strong lyrics, very aggressive music so to add your school boy charm and looks; with some jumping, chest pounding etc it would create quite an amazing show for watch AND listen.

I am very happy to have found out about the guys courtesy Ms. Dragon Blue Eyes. You can catch them out and around town in the next few weeks…. I am warning you, these guys are REALLY, REALLY FREAKING GOOD!

Once again, I can't force people into a show, I can only offer my opinion…do yourselves a favor check em out at a venue near you. You can check their myspace for upcoming dates (as of this writing there were none scheduled). So thanks again to…Matt (drums), Jim (vocals), Erik (bass), Travis and John (dual guitar assault from hell!! Yeah!!).

Sounds Like: Hard Rock
