Heather Waters’ music has been referred to as animated, honest and expressive.
Since the release of her first 5-track EP in Cape Town, South Africa in 2004, Heather Waters went on to share her music with the British Public in 2004/5. Performing alone, with her band or collaborating with other artists, Heather Waters always delivers an animated sincerity to her music.In 2006 she returned to Cape Town, with bundles of new songs and an even more richly developed style, she released her first full album ‘Lyrics in My Pocket, in March 2007.2007 was a busy year for Heather as she performed at venues such as SABC Studios, Cape Town, The Gekko Bar, Hermanus, the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre in Cape Town. She also featured in the musical line-up of many festivals such as the Knysna Oyster Festival and Backpackers Festival, and performed at community events in and around the South Africa and continued to entertain audiences on regular short journeys revisiting England.Lyrically it's readily apparent that Waters doesn't shy away from hard truths. Her expressive folk rock style is captured in songs like “Walk Alone†and her distinctive voice and well-developed song-writing skill is richly displayed in songs such as “Masquerade†and “The Money Came In Todayâ€.ABC Broadcasts voted Heather 'Best Artist in Style - Folk, and her song Masquerade - Best Song in Style - Folk, in 2008, receiving an Effigy Award Nomination towards the end of 2008. Heather Waters' unforgettable sound captivates both young and old. This was particularly evident during her last tour from Cape Town to Durban in 2008. After releasing her EP 'Hope you are Happy', Heather and her band were warmly received by a colourful mix age, race and cultures, as they raised awareness and funds for various Community Projects en-route. Putting thousands of miles on the clock of their VW Campervan, they visited and performed at Backpackers Lodges, Live Music Venues, Festivals and Community Projects along the Eastern Coast of South Africa.On vocals and rhythm guitar, Heather was supported by her band, Nick Frost on drums and percussion, Kirsten 'Pixie' Snyman on violin, and Nick Kuiper on bass guitar.A new year, a new journey! Starting off 2009 in Majorca, (one of the Ballearic islands near Spain) Heather is promoting her album and recent EP, performing Street Music in the Plaza's and music venues, entertaining audiences around the island.
