I am here for Friends

About Me

The simple pleasures in life that I enjoy include: I especially like peeling that layer of lint out of the clothes dryer; I love slicing mushrooms; I like cutting the tops off strawberries; I love having coffee and chocolate for breakfast on weekends and holidays; and I love the feeling of walking into an air-conditioned supermarket or roadhouse in the tropics when it's 45 degrees and 100% humidity outside.I got my layout at MySpace Layouts

My Interests

Cooking and trying new recipes. Hanging out, having a few drinks and generally carrying on with friends.

I'd like to meet:

People who, like me, really enjoy the benefits of daylight savings, but are similarly very confused by the whole concept.

Music:

The Waifs, Natalie Merchant, Bright Eyes, Evermore, Coldplay, Kelly Clarkson, David Gray, Dave Matthews Band, Radiohead, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Paul Kelly, the Cat Empire.

Movies:

Aussie Films are the best. My favourites are Love Serenade, Kenny, and Strictly Ballroom ... "Happy faces. ... Happy faces!"

Television:

The OC, because it offers deeply insightful yet humourous social commentary; and LOST, because it's NOT just about some people lost on an island. Dammit.

Books:

I'm loving Ben Elton and Kurt Vonnegut at the moment. Both exquisite satirists.

Heroes:

Ralph Waldo Emerson said: "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."

Scriptural Reflections

I'll begin this one in the disjointed and not-quite successfully-orienting manner of Year 1 students who are learning early narrative structure: Who: My, Greer, Clem, Mum, our aunty Marion. When: a da...

Ways to Procrastinate
