About Me

Elayne's Link ..Elayne has sung, written and performed both in bands, and as a solo artist (formerly Elayne Walker) since 1990. Soon after meeting guitarist Alan Kerrigan, Cactus Flower were formed and invited to play live on UK Radio One! This resulted in a second live session and subsequent plays on R1 "Pick of the Year". Unsurprisingly a flurry of record label and management interest followed, but Elayne remains unsigned so far. The Worry Dolls, Heel and The Butler Family are among some of the bands Elayne has fronted, songwriting and playing both acoustic and electric rhythm guitar. She has written music for theatre performances and recorded backing vocals for various artists. Her influences range from Maria Mckee, Lucinda Williams and Stevie Nicks and she continues to play live, currently performing some new material.Find out more about Elayne by visiting www.myspace.com/elayneforsterElayne's inspiration comes simply from life itself and the many situations and dilemmas we find ourselves in. Her passion is dialogue with others which bypasses superficiality and explores real emotion, real experiences. She asks questions, finds beauty in imperfection and the idiosyncrasies of having lived a life. She enjoys French antiques and collectables, literature, entertaining with her family & friends, vintage clothes and the ocean.

Sounds Like: Mmmmmm.......
sometimes gentle and mellow ...and sometimes rockin out! The lyrics are so important I hope they express something about me and an event which has moved me to write. I can't deny my admiration for other artistes which obviously makes me aspire to greater things and work harder but I hope my listeners can identify with what I create. And I hope it moves people sometimes. I'd like to think that my sound is a little bit Maria McKee....a touch of Joni Mitchell with a hint of Stevie.....its difficult to say! Please let me know what you think.
