Because the band members vary due to availablity and cannot be listed due to legistics, an acknowledgement is in order to sincerely thank the exceptionally talented players of Nashville that have participated in the music of Pamela Stansberry.
As stated by the artist, "God bless all the great players who have helped me though the years and who continue to lend me their amazing talents. If not for them I would not have had the opportunity to "offer" my music in such a beautiful way—for that, mere words cannot express the depth of gratitude I have for them all."
One person that "MUST" be thanked by name is George Bradfute, a master guitarist and multi-instrumentalist who has had a hand in most of the recordings Pamela Stansberry has made for over a decade.
Influences: Steeped deeply in the influences of Appalachian/mountain music, old-time, traditional spirituals, rustic blues and "roots" music, as well as hymns from centuries ago, comes the progressive evolution of the music of Pamela Stansberry.
Her style remains her own, if not inspired by the creative expressions of some of her own favorite recording artists, such as:
The Chieftans, Neil Young, Crosby-Stills & Nash, Jethro Tull, Maria Maldaur, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Johnny & June Cash, Kate Bush, Iris DeMent, Bill Monroe, Jim Ed Brown, Blind Boys Of Alabama, Sting, Mark Knoepler/Notting Hillbillies, and The Carter Family. This artist loves and respects unique heart-felt music of all styles, but is drawn especially to those who exemplify their own heritage "roots" through the expression of music. "Stick with what you know!"
Some of Pamela Stansberry's favorite recording artists (excluding those listed above) are:Robert Johnson,
Steve Forbert,
Leonard Cohen,
Tom Waits,
Nick Cave,
Kate Bush,

The late Chris Whitley,
Emmy Lou Harris,

Sounds Like: Hmmmm...how to describe? Think of the sound-track to the movie "Cold Mountain,"—dark, vibey, mountain music—very haunting.
Working with some of the "elite" pickers in the Nashville area, there's nothing but the finest acoustic traditional instrumentation. NO "Auto-Tune. The songs, which are written, produced, and often mixed by the artist herself, have an illusion of being from another era, while still remaining fresh, unique and "of the times." If the artist does record or perform a song that she has not written, it is usually a classic song that just cannot be overlooked—from a time that may have long since past.
Pamela's original lyrics are poetic, meaningful and spiritually oriented—if not just straight-up Gospel. The vocals are beautifully unique. Pamela's voice has a certain "clarity" that is difficult to explain. It's as if her voice is a reflection of pure soul, while being present & powerful in the fact that it is indeed "simple" and "singular."
Not easy to compare, but with this in mind; she's an Appalachian kin to Mary Black & Kate Bush, perhaps somewhere on the family tree with Emmy Lou Harris.
