About Me

I hate writing intros; I never know what to say. It’s like the icebreaker inspired training course leaders, you know, the ones who have read motivational speaking for dummies, use to put you at ease with the group, where you are asked to tell the other people there one interesting fact about you. It sounds easy enough, but then you realise that you are about as interesting as dysentery and end up telling everyone you have a third nipple because you panic. Or like welcome line at the wedding of some relative whose name you can barely spell and you have vague memories of but are not entirely sure if it’s them or you’re them getting confused with a character in an old episode of Bergerac, you have to be familiar and friendly with people who somehow remember you, haven’t seen you since you were 'this big' and who you couldn’t pick from a line up containing them, Ronnie Biggs and the Kray Twins. So, here goes, I work for a living, I'm a theatre technician. I work obnoxiously long hours for not an overly large amount of cash, I love what I do. I enjoy music, cars, travelling, I don't like clubbing because if I wanted to go out and shout in someone’s ear, I could visit an old people’s home and not have to pay £10 to get in and £3 for a piss. I'm 25, a prematurely grumpy and sarcastic old man but I am hoping for a cure. I like cooking, I like wine, I like company, and if all those can happen on one night with someone pleasant then I'm happy as. I live in a wee flat in Dundee, which varies in tidiness dependant on how much time I get to spend in it whilst awake. I’m here to keep in touch with mates I don’t see that often and to make new friends in a new city.In more recent news I now appear to have aquired a girlfriend, which is nice, things are on track a pleasant track and going relatively smoothly at present.

Ranting; Everyone needs a Hobby

Reading back over my previous blogs I seem to only come on here to pontificate about the wrongs of the world, right now, things are going well, I'm on the rocky road to positivity and its disturbing f...

I dont understand women, but they understand me.

May I ask the world a question? How is that as soon as you feel that you have happily sorted, filed and organised your thoughts and feelings into neat, easily managable, almost bite sized chunks does...

Deep End & No Armbands, Just the way I like it

On my first foray into the wonderful world of professional theatre sound I find myself quite spectacularly in the deep end. It is never 100% fun to pick up the script for a show, a premiere to be prec...

One of life's many frustrations is only noticing the Elephant in the living room after it's shat all over your carpet. We realise too late that there is something standing right in front of us that sh...

Creatures of habit you know, fish..........

It's strange to think how much every one of us adheres to our habits. I often think that the world is set to fall apart if we deviate just 1 bit from the way we have done things the time before. We p...
