About Me

I am benny the fantastic fooly bear, a canine.I spend my days lounging in the shade, saving up energy for the post-work hike. On winter weekends, I love ski-touring and am truly fantastic about breaking trail. Pretty much, I'm one of the greatest dogs that anyone has ever be-friended.I've been on a spiritual quest as of late. So much to think about. Basically I'm seeking that common spark of goodness and love that is in all people and permeates most religions, some good books, and is captured by that feeling when you hear a really touching song (like something by Norah Jones, Amos Lee, or Metallica). Here I find myself attempting to describe the indescribable. Nevertheless, my thoughts are mostly consumed with opening myself to a deeper understanding of the eternal. Sadly, this website is one of the few places where I can discuss my thoughts. Though many profess to believe in God, few are open to dialog on the subject, and even fewer act in accordance with their belief (whatever that may actually be). I want to sit on my porch, drink some decent wine, and discuss the workings of the universe and our own personal path through time with equally curious people. By discuss, I mean converse. I hate it when people identify their own beliefs and then talk at me, lecture to me, simplify things for me. My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Other cool, laid-back, dogs that ski and camp, hike, chew, fish, think uncensored... I pretty much like everyone, so I don't have too many preferences.

My Blog

Rednecks, gaurdian angels, and me on my bike

This morning, I avoided becoming a smear on the pavement by 1 second.  I was cycling to work at a pretty good clip in the bike lane.  Usually I think about nothing, but for whatever reason, ...

Personal will versus eternal prodding

I believe that all living creatures contain a spark of eternal life within us.  The sum total of all of those sparks is "god."  Although we contain that spark, we do not control that spark.&...

Easter inspired thoughts

It is strange how easily I forget or stray from the source of my life's direction.  I don't mean to say that I stray from God.  On the contrary, I think about God more and more.  What I...

dreams

Last night I dreamed that I walked with God and discussed the path.  God said that the reason He doesn't reveal a person's path ahead of time, is that he/she would rush straight to the goal and b...

Choosing happiness

This is a bit of a continuation from my last thought, and specifically refers to how we perceive the world. The problem with many scientists is that when they conduct research, they are looking for som...
