Neoclassical Shredder

About Me

I was born on the 13 of November 1977, in Venafro (Molise-Italy) and I started to play the guitar at the age of 17 because I felt that ..I have to play guitar!.. Two years past in a ..musical wilderness.., without a teacher, playing songs from my favourite bands. Then I started to take things serious, to increase my technique and musical knowledge, looking for practise methods in tabulator (and everything else that I could get my hands on). It was mainly by two guitarists: Yngwie Malmsteen and Frank Gambale. Gambale gave me a passion for a particular way of playing arpeggios and working on my sweep picking. Malmsteen opened up a musical door in me with his neoclassical playing. This style of music totally enchanted me and I started to study the styles of the greatest neoclassical players around like, Jason Becker, Vinnie Moore, Tony Macalpine, and many other great neoclassical players. I still like to study the styles of funky/fusion greats like Greg Howe and Scott Mishoe, despite my love for neoclassical music. I started to spend more time with exercises, sometimes up to 10 hours a day. I don..t have that amount of time anymore but I still try to spend at least three hours a day with practising and trying to learn something new. I have loads of experience playing as a ..hired gun.. for many different kind of bands, both live and studio work (mainly as a lead guitarist). It has been everything from rock to extreme metal. My favourite styles of music are neoclassical, classical music, metal (mainly thrash and death) and pop music from the ..80s. I often work together with other Italian guitar players (as Lorenzo Venza, Leonardo Porcheddu, Antonello Sassone, Daniele Gottardo, Dario Orlando, Fabrizio Sgattoni). But right now my main focus is: my neoclassical project, that is a four piece band with guitar, bass, drums and piano. In the free time, I like rewrite the anime's BGM (back ground music) in shred version...it's too fun!!!Other interests: GIRLS, manga, anime, soccer and other sports, videogames, egyptology, ufology. You can find other infos at the websites: www.luigirinaldi.com ; www.musicistiweb.com ; http://truthinshredding.blogspot.com ; www.chitarristi.com ; www.dheadbangerszine.com
