About Me

The story of Walter's life is a long and uninteresting one, beginning one fair October afternoon at St. Luke's hospital in downtown Manhattan where he was popped out the cooch of a filipino mail-order bride named "Lolita."

My Interests

Your mom.

I'd like to meet:

God. No, not that one.

Music:

In no particular order, and off the top of my head:Cake, Belle and Sebastian, Guitar Vader, Beck, Architecture in Helsinki, Ambulance Ltd., Sufjan Stevens, Massive Attack, Sneaker Pimps, Portishead, Muse, Mindless Self Indulgence, Mirah, The Minibosses, Placebo, Sleater-Kinney, Vitalic, The Ataris, The Decemberists, Telepopmusik, Iron & Wine, Maximo Park, Wilderness, Spoon, Robert Plant and the Strange Sensation, Bloc Party, The Smiths, David Bowie, Stephen Malkmus, Shining, LCD Soundsystem, Gypsy Kings, Art Brut, Devendra Banhart, Blonde Redhead, Yoko Kanno, The Boy Least Likelly To, The Smiths, Bright Eyes, Iron and Wine, Duende, !!!, Dandy Warhols, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix...The list could go on forever. If it's not Hip Hop or R&B (though, I must confess that I'll often like shaking my booty to these things), chances are, I'lll dig it. For the record, though, if I were a stripper, I'd totally dance to Tom Waits.

Movies:

If it's foreign or if it was made in 1999, chances are, I love it. An incomplete list: City of God, The Dreamers, American Beauty, Battle Royale, Brazil, eXistenZ, Fight Club, Kill Bill, The Rock, Coffee and Cigarettes, Broken Flowers, EVERYTHING by Wes Anderson, Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Lord of the Rings, Nightmare Before Christmas (and most of Tim Burton's other films), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the new one, but Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a'ight), The Matrix (but only the first one)

Television:

Anything on Adult Swim. I tend to have CNN in the background on mute because it makes me feel like I live in the future.

Books:

"Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn, "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman (and pretty much anything he's had anything to do with, for that matter), "House of Leaves" by Mark Danielewski, "A Fine Balance" (I forget the author, wish to tell me?), "Crime and Punishment", all Shakespeare (but especially Richard III and Macbeth), "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand.
