Woolly Mammoth

In March of 2005 original founding member veteran Drummer, Paul Borrello approached me to form a hard rock cover band. Paul is the former Drummer of the band Moxie. He and I worked together in that band. Paul recruited past Bass player genius Ray Jung to complete the Rhythm section. After a total of exactly one singer and one guitar player auditioned...we had a Singer and a Lead Guitarist! That was quick....nothing since that time has been quick. Both Steve Saccoccio and Jeff Garrison knocked our socks off as they auditioned together. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!!! In the dead of the winter 2006 Ray Jung decided that he needed to go in a different direction. We supported Ray and his choice. The hole the Ray left was pretty big for WM to fill. The band set out on audtions for a new Bassist that took 3 months. WM finally got it's guy after checking out ten players. His name is Mark Maiolo. mark brings the Mammoth not only experience, but experience with our front man Steve Saccoccio. The two played together in Blue,Green Algea. Mark's awesome backups and stellar playing make the Mammoth even better than the original lineup.
Woolly Mammoth is/well be something special to behold once it's out there in the Capital Region playing covers of some of the best Modern Rock bands like Audioslave, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains and choice classic Rock covers from Led Zeppelin, Rush & The Beatles.This band has a knack for getting it very close to the original. It prides itself in coming close. While some other musicians rather just play it their way, SG simply believes it pays tribute to the great bands by trying to reproduce the song that closely resembles the original.Come out and see this Hard Rock cover band and you will be shaken, impressed and Rocked!COMING TO A CLUB NEAR YOU SOON!!!!
