THE DUB FUNK ASSOCIATION, a loose collection of producers and musicians, that are brought together by KELVIN R on occaision since 1991.
They have continued on their quest to introduce the more discerning dub listener to their world of alternative beats….. DUB FUNK.
A group with its foundations in the Dub of King Tubby and Lee Perry, but they are not a dub band.
A group whose music possess the ‘spacial’ qualities of Ambient music but they are not an Ambient collective.
A group whose musical elements owe a lot to Breakbeat and Drum ‘n’ Bass, but who are not affiliated to any of these movements.
DUB FUNK is the bringing together of Reggae, Jazz, Hip-Hop and Breakbeat music, which has been influenced by the dubs out of Black Ark, Joe Gibbs, Channel One, and King Tubbys Jamaican studios during the 1970’s and 1980’s, combined with dance music's developments of the 90’s and beyond.
