Elemiah est un groupe de weird metal progressif originaire de Troyes en Champagne, France. Le fondateur du groupe, Loran Nicot est .. l'origine du projet.Au d..but 1999, il a .. l'esprit l'envie de cr..er un style "nouveau" sur la sc..ne locale.La premi..re rencontre va ..tre celle de R..ginald Jaillant qui se dit sensible aux ..bauches des futures compositions. Il effectue un essai batterie mais n'integrera le groupe que six mois plus tard comme...clavieriste, son sens de la m..lodie touchera ..norm..ment Loran. Ayant contact.. Dominique Morisot six mois plus t..t et qui ..tait indisponible pour cause de divers projets, Loran le recontacte et l'invite .. venir ..couter les compositions. A l'issue de celles-..i, il d..cide de rejoindre le groupe amenant avec lui, Fran..ois Oudard, bassiste. Un an plus tard, lors d'un essai de guitariste d'une formation amie, le groupe rencontre Pascal Dottel, qui .. l'issue pr..ferera rejoindre Elemiah. Il am..ne ses talents de compositeur et surtout l'alchimie des deux guitares se fait .. merveille. Pendant une ann..e, le groupe travaille sur les compositions et en 2001, il d..cide d'enregistrer une d..mo pour trouver ce qui lui manque: un chant. Le groupe r..alise lui m..me sa premi..re d..mo: Choirs of Seraphims. Les echos de celle-..i sont bon mais l'horizon ne s'eclaircit pas car toujours pas de chanteur. En 2002, de nouvelles compositions voient le jour avec un un esprit symphonique prononc... N'ayant toujours pas trouv.. la perle rare, le groupe n'en perd n..anmoins pas sa motivation et d..cide d'enregistrer une nouvelle d..mo 6 titres au d..but 2003, "The Whispering From Mars" mais des divergences musicales interviennent au sein du groupe. Dominique et Fran..ois ne se retrouvent pas dans les nouvelles compositions et quittent le groupe. Le groupe va programmer ses parties batterie car il est hors de question de remettre l'enregistrement. Au mois d'Aout 2003, Elemiah enregistre pendant 1 mois son nouveau cd et le mixe en Octobre-Novembre. Celui-..i se veut beaucoup plus m..tal, progressif, symphonique, athmosph..rique et le groupe fonde de gros espoirs sur celui-..i pour retrouver dans un premier temps, les musiciens manquants pour se produire live. En esperant trouver ceux qui nous manquent...tente ta chance !!! Les S..raph..ens souhaitent vous emmener vers les hautes sph..res...
Elemiah is a progressive metal group from Troyes in the Champagne region, France. The founder of the group, Loran Nicot, started this project. At the beginning of 1999, he had the spirit to create a "new" style in the local scene. The first meeting was with R..ginald Jaillant who showed to be sensitive to the outlines of the future compositions. They did a session and six months later they extended their group with a keyboardplayer, who’s feeling for melody touched Loran deeply. Having contacted Dominique Morisot six months earlier, who was at that time not available due to various other projects, Loran contacted him again and invited him to come and listen to their compositions. After that Dominique decided to join the group and brought Fran..ois Oudard, a bass player, with him.One year later, at a session of a befriended band, the group meets Pascal Dottel guitarist. Pascal turns out to prefer joining Elemiah. He brings with him his composing talents and especially the marvellous alchemy of the two guitars that are now in the group. During one year, the group works on the compositions and in 2001, they decide to record a demo and find out what is missing: a singer.The group realizes however their first demo: Choirs of Seraphims. The reception of this demo is very good but the horizon does not get any brighter for them as they still don’t have a singer. In 2002, new compositions are born with a clear symphonic spirit. Still not having found the “rare pearl”, the group does nevertheless not lose its motivation and decides to record a new demo of 6 titles at the beginning of 2003: "The Whispering From Mars". Then musical divergences intervenes within the group. Dominique and Fran..ois do not find themselves in the new compositions and leave the band.The band will program the drum parts because it is out of question giving up the recording. In August 2003 Elemiah records in 1 month its new Cd. In October-November the Cd is mixed. They would have liked it to be more metal, progressive, symphonic, atmospheric and the group carries a big hope to eventually find the missing musicians to perform live. While hoping to find those we miss... Take your chance! We, Seraphim, wish to take you along towards the higher realms...

En attendant de trouver un chanteur qui posera sa voix sur leur musique, ELEMIAH continue de nous convaincre avec son prog rock. C'est .. se demander si l'arriv..e d'un vocaliste est vraiment n..c..ssaire.La richesse instrumentale, comme le veut le style, est i..i mise en avant et se suffit .. elle m..me. L'ensemble, il faut le reconnaitre, est servi par un excellent son. Ce disque commence fort avec "The Whispering From Mars", long titre (en 3 parties) qui force le respect par son interpretation et sa construction.Il est tout bonnement magnifique!! Cette nouvelle autoproduction s'..loigne completement de l'univers "Dream Theater" qui influencait le pr..c..dent cd. C'est beaucoup plus personnel. La production, tr..s moderne, rapproche plus ELEMIAH, d'un groupe comme Arena que d'un Spock's Bear aux sonorit..s moins actuelles. En fait, rien ici ne rappelle la vague progressive des ann..es 70. La seule incursion notable dans le pass.. semble ..tre celle d'un titre comme "Lea Mundis Seduce My Soul", qui par son intro nous fait penser .. "white Russian" de Marillion (dans Clutching at straws-1987)...pas si lointain en fait. Leur pr..c..dente r..alisation nous avait d..ja mis l'eau .. la bouche en instaurant les bases d'ELEMIAH, celle-ci confirme tout le bien qu'on pensait d'eux. Honnetement, je persiste .. dire qu'il n'y a pas besoin de chanteur. Fan de prog "non d..monstratif", jetez vous sur ce disque!!
While waiting to find a singer who will put his voice to their music, ELEMIAH continues to convince us with its progressive rock. It remains a question whether the arrival of a vocalist is really necessary. The instrumental richness, the style if you like, is put in the foreground and sufficient in itself. The band, one should recognize it, produces an excellent sound. This Cd starts “extremely” with "The Whispering From Mars" A long track (in 3 parts) that commands respect by its interpretation and its construction. It is all splendid!! This new (self)production moves away completely from the universe of "Dream Theater" that influenced the preceding Cd. It is much more personal. The production, very modern, brings ELEMIAH closer to groups like Arena or Spock's Beard that do however show less modern sounds. In fact, nothing here recalls the progressive wave of the Seventies. The only notable incursion into the past seems to be that of a title like "Lea Mundis Seduce My Soul", which by its intro makes us think of "white Russian" of Marillion (in Clutching At straws-1987)... not so remote in fact. Their preceding Cd had already made our mouths water by founding the base of ELEMIAH, this one confirms all the good things we thought of them. Honestly, I persist in saying that they do not need a singer. Fans of progressive rock, throw yourselves on this disc!!

Moi qui ..coute pas mal de progressif, j'avais ..t.. agr..ablement surpris par la qualit.. de cette formation de Troyes, tant les compos de leur premi..re d..mo " Choirs Of Seraphim" etaient au point. Dans un genre pas forc..ment facile .. maitriser et ou les accros techniques sont difficile .. masquer. Le cot.. symphonique et ..vocateur des compos est bien plus accentu.. qu'auparavant. Une nouvelle direction musicale qui leur a cout.. le d..part de leur section rythmique, rien que ..a! Et pour ne rien arranger, le groupe n'a toujours pas trouv.. de chanteur, vivant dans une r..gion ou il semble extremement difficile de recruter des musiciens. Voila un groupe qui continue .. avoir la foi, quoi qu'il advienne! L'absence de chant n'est pas forc..ment g..nante sur des titres 100% instrumentaux ou la musique se suffit .. elle-m..me. Un mixage reussi entre les plans alambiqu..s .. la Dream Theater, la sensualit.. d'un Marillion et le cot.. planant de certains titres de Spock's Beard. Des compos longues mais jamais ennuyeuses ou les plans se succ..dent avec un gros talent de composition mis en avant par un jeu de guitares magnifique. Je regrette beaucoup par contre que la batterie soit programm..e sur une boite .. rythmes, ..a gache un peu l'ambience globale et ..a nuit pas mal au potentiel de puissance qui dort dans chacun de ces 6 titres. La musique d' ELEMIAH invite au voyage et ce serait dommage que le groupe n'arrive pas .. completer son line-up car ce n'est que de cette fa..on qu'il pourra enfin s'affirmer comme un grand de la sc..ne prog fran..aise.
Me, who listens often to progressive bands, I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of this group from Troyes, especially the compositions of their first demo "Choirs Of Seraphim" are very good. In a genre not inevitably easy to master and in which any technical “mistakes” are difficult to mask. The symphonic and evocative dimensions of the compositions are accentuated much more than before. They took a new musical direction that has cost them the departure of their rhythm section. The group still hasn’t found a singer living in an area where it seems extremely difficult to recruit musicians. ELEMIAH is a group that continues to keep the faith, no matter what happens! The absence of voice is not missing here, the music in itself is sufficient. A mix between the elaborate style of Dream Theater, the sensuality of Marillion and the “flying side” of certain titles of Spock's Beard. Long compositions, but never tedious. The plans follow one another with a large talent of composition played by a splendid set of guitars. On the other hand I regret that the drums are programmed with a drum machine, it gives a bit of a global ambience and it does not quite fit the powerful potential that sleeps in each one of these 6 titles. The music of ELEMIAH invites to “travel” and it would be a pity if the group does not manage to supplement its line-up because it is only in this way that they will be able to be finally affirmed as a large player in the French progressive scene.

Nous reprenons l'..coute l.. ou nous l'avions laiss.. il y a quelques mois: un m..tal progressif symphonique instrumental de grande qualit... Usant de superbes m..lodies, grâce .. des guitares et un clavier en totale eurythmie, Loran, Reginald et Pascal nous font r..ver, nous transportent dans leur monde musical (The Whispering From Mars, Losing Faith). C'est toujours aussi beau, efficace, pleins de couleurs, de chaleur. Enlev..es, chatoyante, ces 6 compositions sont riches, font appel .. tous nos sens et finissent par nous happer enti..rement. Avec une bonne production et un artwork magnifique, cette nouvelle d..mo devrait logiquement leur offrir les cl..s pour ouvrir certaines portes pas toujours accesibles...Messieurs, nous vous souhaitons bonne chance.
Loran, guitarist and founder of ELEMIAH, again gives us the honour and the pleasure of sending his work to us. This new demonstration of 6 titles follows "Choirs Of Seraphims", which had 3 titles about which I told you all the good things in the n°21 of METAL INTEGRAL. Next to Lea Mundis Seduce My Soul and Dark Tower, already present on their first demo, ELEMIAH recorded 4 new titles: The Whispering From Mars, Something Weird, Losing Faith and Moonlight Serenade. We pick up the listening where we left it a few months ago: instrumental symphonic progressive metal of great quality. Using superb melodies, thanks to guitars and a keyboard in total eurhythmy, Loran, Reginald and Pascal make a dream for us, transport us into their musical world (The Whispering From Mars, Losing Faith). It is, as always, beautiful, effective, full of colours and heat. Removed, chatoyante, these 6 compositions are rich, effect all our senses and finish by grabbing us entirely. With a good production and splendid artwork, this new demonstration should logically offer the keys to open certain doors that are not always accessible... Messieurs, we wish you good luck.
