About Me

Chapter one: Wherein fate mercyfully teaches biology.Interesting that Bio is the title of this piece for it was in the BIOlogy lab of St.Aidans C.B.S in whitehall where a twist of fate and the whim of a teacher would throw a young Frederick "Mongo" Walsh into the same row as a younger Declan "Declan" Brennan. They studied biology and questioned the way of the music business. While this biological education was ongoing a fellow student who shall remain nameless at this juncture because its inconsiquential to the story was looking for someone to play bass. Declan had somehow managed to wangle a junior ceritficate in music, which involved a performance on guitar. Knowing this our mysterious character began talking Declan into taking up bass, Declan realised it was easier to play bass as it only has four strings (in its purest form) and also being bereft of any musical talent copped onto the fact that no one gives the tiniest of shites about bass so he could go on being inept but capable, so he began to save for a bass. . . . Meanwhile in a nearby school on Dublins northside there was a man, a certain man, a man who's grace and handsome face is known across the land, but more of him later. After a well placed bet on the grand national Declan had enough money to get his bass. Upon realising he now sucked on a whole new instrument he informed Freddy. Freddy who for years if not months had been practing training his hands in the art of guitarism. Declan and Freddy decided to jam, and jam they did with no real result. Now, being no more than a power duo at this stage our hero's looked for a drummer, to no avail. I their darkest hour they even considered comprimising their uncomprimising style to make finding a drummer easier. We are happy to say that they did not comprimise....except for the following comprimise. Realising that guitarists being the dominant species of those who play instruments in the locality Freddy (being the martyr that he is) switched to drums. Declan and Freddy began to look for guitarists but couldnt find any to suit their level of playing. They were in a Mark Knoffler of a Dire Straight.Chapter 2: Wherein Colaiste Dhulaigh forges new dawns for our hero's. September 2004 a month that shall be remebered by generations to come, for it was in that month that Ben "Ben" Murphy began his journey through the fine institute of Colaiste Dhulaigh. Among the other 47 students whom also embarked on their educational quest that year was Declan (my it seems like he does alot, doesnt it) Although aware of each others prescence it would not be until one fatefull phonecall that the two knew what they had to do. One day whilst in the smoking area of Dhulaigh the shrill, distorted scream of Manowars Eric Adams rang out. Ben swung his head around and asked the question that wil be inscribed on the bottom of the statute to commemerate the moment "Oh my god is that manowar". With the answer being yes, the rest of that first year flew by in a whirling dervish of metalness and coincidental humour usually centered around the word King. With the realisation that Ben had to feature in some part in the band we left behind in chapter the first. He joined the band as vocalist. the band first jammed, and in this jam there was comedy, there was the first 13 seconds of Back in Black, It was good, most good, douglas newman good ! Communications class afforded us the opportunity to play in front of our peers, we took the lucky few who turned up for the class on a musical tour of Europe, although they never left the room many people are quoted as saying " I was miles away during that class" It went so well there was a second gig, an encore if you will, this time featuring an orchestral arrangement of guitar, bass, xylophone, digiry do and lots of other things. Thi musical tour focused on the bastion of nobility that is Germany. It worked, it worked well, very well. So it came to pass that second year came to be third year. Where we are now. Ben was called to New York, he returned with a Synthesiser. And so the galactic mystery solvers were born, here we are, rock you like a hurricane.Add us and this could happen to you too

The GMS now has a new creature feature, familiarise yourselves with him, for if you stand against us when the revolution comes he will be hunting you down.

Sounds Like: Nothing on earth, or any other planets or plains of existance. Imagine, if you will that your favourite metal bands got lost deep in the jungle. Whilst there they became encamped with the natives who thought them the secrets of the harmony of the jungle. They stayed there and married the natives and raised children. Their children came to Dublin. . . . . . . and we are they, here is there and nothing is what it seems.
