I was born in Sacramento, California. I grew up writing songs and performing in clubs in Washington, DC, Germany, North Dakota and my current residence Newport News, Virginia. During this time, I along with my singing group, opened for many acts such as Tony Terry, Hi-Five, C&C Music Factory, Kwame & GUY (Norfolk, Va Beach & Richmond, VA), KRS1, Big Daddy Kane, Heavy D, Wrecks N Effect and Rakim (Greensboro, NC). I always loved music.
In 1993, I signed a contract as a writer/producer for BIV 10 Records/Motown. This gave me the experience to work with artists, craft songs and publish music for such acts as Boyz II Men, ABC (Another Bad Creation) and Sudden Impact (the next pop sensation directly after “New Kids On The Blockâ€).
After learning the music industry, I used my experience to pitch songs to other labels. My first placement came in 1995 with a latin group named “Voices Of Theoryâ€. I landed two songs on the groups debut album, “If I Knew Then†and “It's Been Awhileâ€. Though not a commercial success, I used this confidence to pitch more songs to other local and major artists.
In 1998, I signed as a producer/songwriter with Blackground Records (home to the late Aaliyah, Tank, Playa and Timbaland). It was at this time the group “Sudden Impactâ€, who later became “Outsiderz 4 Lifeâ€, began crafting songs for their album. One of the songs, “Ain't Never†caught Aaliyah's attention enough for her to want make a guest appearance.
In 2000, I formed Zenography Songs, a music publishing company (through ASCAP) to house all of my work. This allowed me to further shop songs to local and major artists. Zenography Songs' first placement was with “Not Enough†that featured on MTV Cribs and was performed by Outsiderz 4 Life in 1998. Another placement came from a song I wrote and co-produced with the world famous producer “Timbaland†called “Who R Uâ€. The song appeared in an episode “Smallville†in 2008.
From 2001-2008, I took a break to learn the music licensing section of the business. I've been working in my local area, pitching music to local businesses and webcasters. In 2009, a song called "I'll Be Damn" appeared on episode of "Lost". My goal is to feature my music in featured films and TV and serve as a Music Coordinator for films and TV shows. .
