Blair has been DJing from a very early age of 15 and has played at some of the better clubs around Australia as well as overseas in Japan, Germany, Holland, Poland and most of Europe. An avid music fanatic you will hear many a different tune spun through his sets where old jazz and soul classics are just as likely to be slipped in with some of the more eclectic freestyle tunes of the present day floor. Known for his genre bending sets lasting more than four hours at times, Blair is a DJ in the classic sense where he does not let modern day demands get in the way of a good tune.
Having studied music in Berlin and lived in Europe for eight years, Blair witnessed and partook in the birth of both the techno and acid jazz scenes, playing at such clubs as Delicious Dougnuts in Berlin and various parties around Europe for many years, both as a DJ and saxophonist.
On returning to Australia, Blair recognised a gap in the market for an internet based radio station and founded straightup.com.au, Australia's only internet based radio station which has won, not only the accolades of some of the most respected heads in the international music industry, but also the prestigious Beyond Jazz Best Web Site of the Year Award in 2006!
Blair currently holds down residencies at Jazz Lounge (Alhambra Lounge Brisbane), Hotcakes (The Laundry Melbourne), Curve Bar and pops up from to time in other cities around the world.
