the images of where I'm from and where skateboarding have taken me are stuck in my head. The friends, the style, and beliefs of skating are unique. It's something you have to live to understand. The tattered shoes, torn bodies are war wounds of the believers, past present and future are all embraced. The look the lifestyle all say one thing and one thing alone, I'm an individual, and i will prevail!
Hello. My name is Ben, if your good friends with me you probably know me as bean. I’m 22 and live in Sidney Nebraska, and can’t seem to get away, trust me I’ve been trying… I graduated motorcycle mechanics institute in June of 08, and am currently looking for a job in the industry. I play bass for the band Dolly Hit Dollie and I love it check out myspace.com/dollyhitdollie. I also play guitar and vocals for the band three lock box also on myspace. I am usually a very friendly person and if you know me you know that I’m almost never angry or grumpy, if I am it’s a pretty serious situation. I am agnostic, which means that I am open to the idea of religion but choose not to practice any. I don’t like the word (beliefs). I think a belief is too hard to change; instead I like the phrase, (a good idea). i only have one superstition, i never toast with water. I am obsesive compulsive, but i'm not as bad as some people. I hate being in one place for too long, especially Nebraska. I love the city of phoenix AZ. And want to go back but it’s really expensive out there. I don’t want to grow up J. But if I have to I still don’t know what I want to be, and I don’t think I ever will. I never really had any Ideas of what I want to be. Everyone always says fireman or astronaut but if everyone became what they wanted to be there wouldn’t be anyone to make the sandwiches. I am a very laid back chill kind of guy, but I have fun with what I do at the same time. If you have just met me you would probably think I am shy, but once you get to know me I open up and you’ll see a different person. I also love to skate; after all I’ve been doing it for 14 years. In my spare time I love to drive, if you see me there’s a good chance I’m in my car at the time. I could drive all day if I could afford it. It gives me some good time to reflect on my life and what’s going on at the time; in fact that’s where I do most of my thinking. I’m kind of surprised I took the time to write all this down; I’ve been thinking about all this for a while but couldn’t ever find the motivation to do it. I am also writing a book but just like this I can’t find the motivation to finish it and probably never will. I love music, its one of the strongest ways that I express myself, be it a song that I wrote and perform or a song by another band, it’s a great release and I cant imagine my life without it, I love to read but have a very hard time finding books that are worth my time. I also love to listen, that sounds kind of weird but I’m not much of a talker, I can listen to someone all day if they have something even slightly interesting to say, I have been told that I am a good listener before and I believe it. I love writing whether it be poetry or music or something like this its just another way to express myself. And on top of it all, more than anything I love to live… after all life is a journey, not a destination so take the scenic route!
