For The Double Yellow - the young, energized group of six individuals from the New England area, music is whatever makes you happy. These six musicians pack a pop-rock punch that modernizes the musical styles of the past 25 years and spreads the fun they're having around to as many people as possible. The front-man Ryan Quintal belts out vocals while backed by the five stellar musicians: Jeff Moore ..boards and backup vocals, Andrew Cote on drums, Evan Hedrich on lead guitar, Will Hedrich on bass, and Kevin Thibault on acoustic guitar. What ensues once they are on stage can capture the admiration of any audience, with selections diverse enough satisfy most any crowd.
The band as it is today is a melding together of numerous backgrounds, and stems from countless individual projects and friendships that form the basis of a relationship that, for them, is second to none. Strong believers that the best music is music free of restraint, the six are not afraid to mix rock licks with pop melodies, or heavy funk drum grooves with soaring string lines.
In late 2005, Andrew Cote and Jeff Moore created a group known as Boone County, that, while quite successful in High School band competitions, had a constantly rotating lineup of personnel, before finally settling on a sturdy lineup involving the pair, future Double Yellow front man Ryan Quintal and guitarist Evan Hedrich. As fate would have it, weeks before the breakup of the group, Boone County took part in a New Hampshire band competition - where they met future Double Yellow guitarist, and former Stubblefield member Kevin Thibault. An instant friendship was formed, and with the addition of bassist Will Hedrich, the current lineup of The Double Yellow was born.
Playing all across the New England Area, The Double Yellow have formed a huge following of fans of all ages - playing the Rotary Rockin’ Ribfest in Merrimack, NH, the Hopkinton State Fair, Nashua's Summerfest at Greeley Park and Holman Stadium, Brandeis University, Boston University and the University of New Hampshire. As winners of six consecutive, local and state-wide Battle of the Bands - the Double Yellow has emerged as a fresh new driving force on the New England music scene. Currently hard at work The Double Yellow’s debut album is being recorded in the summer of 2008.
