p.d. wohl... also know as Paul D. Wohlstetter......Originally from Brooklyn, New York, p.d. came to Canada in the early 1990s). He has been in Vancouver ever since. When he was very young music permeated his life. He did his homework listening to a small Panasonic clock radio at his little desk after school. WABC 77.... Harry Harrison... The sounds of Motown, Philly and London rang through his ears... and he sang along while doing math and english. Later he would drum on his mom's dashboard. By 13 he was learning the basic chords on his Dad's cheap acoustic. He studied guitar for a few years with a great teacher in Canarise named Don Comanda who wrote the book called 10,000 Chords For The Guitar. He played in garage bands, school bands, jazz bands, and with friends for fun. He has been writing songs since as long as he can remember. Always inspired by the white noise of walking down Broadway or around Greenwich Village.During a soul searching day after the berakup of his marriage many years ago, he tuned his old Guild acoustic to open D and started writing songs again. In Vancouver he met a whole bunch of great singer-songwriters and began playing around town at open mics, and gigs in small venues. He also had a band for a while called the Bordello Brothers. In 2003 he released his first solo CD "p.d. wohl - A Guy I Knew".. A mix of country , rock, blues, jazz, folk. His second CD "A Moment In Time" is now finished. It is a very acoustic batch of ballads in alternate tunings.
