About Me
Nashville independent producer Wendell Tilley, after lullaby cd's were given as gifts to his newborn daughter, Rook, ( the chick in the photo), noticed that most of the recordings were keyboard-vocal arrangements and thought wouldn't it be positively groundbreaking, perhaps, that there should be a rural, folk instrument, or bluegrass if you will, interpretation of those children's classics. Tilley first contacted the amazing multi- instrumentalist, Jonathan Yudkin. Known worldwide for his work with heavyweights such as Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Jars of Clay, and countless others, Jonathan,
agreed to handle the fiddle and mandolin with his signature feel and Gaelic expressiveness. Dobro masters Bruce Bouton, (of Garth Brooks fame), and Dan Dugmore, renowned for his impeccable studio work with giants such as James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt, perform brilliantly, frequently harmonizing to create a haunting, melodic, sweetness. These players, combined with Tilley's arrangements and acoustic guitar virtuosity, have recorded a unique presentation of these timeless melodies. For these reasons Bluegrass Lullabies is enjoyed not only by children, but adults as well, as the lullabies satiate mature expectations whilst charming the little ones to slumber in the intimacy of a live performance.
