Fingerstyle Guitar etc...

About Me

I play guitar. Been playing for as long as I can remember, mostly improvised music, started out playing anything, like; piano, guitar, ukulele, tennis rackets, cans, flutes etc. Later on in my teens I begun taking guitar lessons and wanted to play blues, which led to searching for jazz and ended up finding ‘free’ improvised music, which led to what I'm currently doing. During the past 11 years or so, I've also been playing European/American folksongs and bluegrass/country on my spare time. I enjoy playing with different people and in different projects and bands. Recently with David Stackenäs, Hal Rammel, Gary Verkade, Steve Nelson-Raney, Michael Zerang and others, both in Sweden and the U.S. When not enjoying music I like diving, riding my bike in the woods, and meeting good people

(The music here is sort of a side project for me. For more info and to check out my other persona/music, click on JOHAN SUNDBERG at my top friends.) Cheers /Johan

Sounds Like: The main idea about this project is to show upon and unite the natural connection that I see between: improvisation('free')/folk music/and jazz. The idea is also to keep the natural folk music alive, music that exists as a contemporary, historical and ‘in the moment’ experience. In addition I want to make music that’s not some sort of ‘world music’ which to me seems to be a form of music, that hardly ever seems to explore the dissonance and leave the comfort zone, within its performers and audience.................................... SONGS: PICKING MEDLEY 1 -Ballad/Wildwood Flower/Canonball Rag................... PICKING MEDLEY 2-Windy & Warm/Shepards Delight............................................. JERRY'S BREAKDOWN is a live recording with the bluegrass/country/folk band 'BonaFide'/LOVESICK BLUES is me and Pontus Norborg jaming on a Hank Wiliams tune .............................................. BORDERS/A BEAUTIFUL WORLD (5m sound clip)-This song was written after having watched a documentary about prostitution in Czechia, and is sort of dedicated to all people involved in that film......................... FROM A SEA. I grew up near the ocean (the baltic sea to be correct) ......................... All arrangements by Sundberg. Ballad, From a Sea and Borders written by Sundberg (STIM).
