Liebe Freunde,an einem Sonntag gab mir Zwanie eine CD mit der Aufschrift:„Zwanie Songs 1998 - 2006“Eine Zusammenstellung einiger seiner Lieder.Nur so, zum Hören.Ich war sofort verzaubert von der Sweetness und Schönheit dieser Songs. Über ein Jahr begleitete mich diese CD auf meinen Reisen durch fremde Länder und bei jedem Hören wuchsen und wuchsen diese wunderbaren Songs.Anders als bei so viel anderer Musik musste ich mir diese nicht schönsaufen.Nein, diese Songs waren bezaubernd, zeitlos und besonders.Spätestens als meine Freundin das dritte Mal fragte: „Was ist das noch mal Schönes?“, als Zwaniesongs in meiner Zufalls-Schleife erklangen, reifte in mir ein Gedanke:„Die Welt braucht Zwanie!“Schon länger spielten meine Lieblingsplattenfirma Buback und ich mit dem Gedanken, gemeinsam ein Label zu gründen, mein eigenes Unterlabel sozusagen. Doch bisher war ich der Meinung ich hätte schon genug Probleme, auch ohne eigenes Label. Dann schon lieber eine Katze kaufen... oder zwei, damit die eine sich nicht so langweilt, wenn ich nicht da bin.Wiederum an einem Sonntag wusste ich dann, dieses Album ist der schönste und zwingendste Grund doch selber loszulegen, ein Label zu starten und lovely music zu veröffentlichen.HOOBERT war geboren!Zwanie, der seinen Namen übrigens der Tatsache verdankt, dass er früher immer alles für einen Zwanni (20DM/10EUR) eingespielt hat, spielte auch auf diesen zwölfeinhalb Songs, bis auf ein paar Ausnahmen, alle Instrumente selber ein. Nur dass er diesmal keine 20 Mark dafür bekam. Dafür darf ich ihn und seine vierköpfige Familie jetzt durchbringen. Danke noch mal.Durch Zwanie's wirklich lässigen Umgang mit Gesang und Instrumenten ist dieses Album herrlich unaufgesetzt und berührt mit einer manchmal schonungslosen Ehrlichkeit. Die Sweetness und Freundlichkeit, die sich durch alle Songs zieht, lässt einen glauben Zwanie stehe kurz vor seiner Erleuchtung. Mein Freund und Kupferstecher André Luth behauptet gar, Zwanie sei alle Beatles in einer Person:„Wenn ich mal kurz erklären darf: Für mich ist Zwanie ein waschechter Mystiker, wie George Harrison. Sein Thema ist L.O.V.E., aber mehr so kosmisch. Manche Freunde von früher sagen, er ist ein komplizierter Mann, wie John Lennon, ein weltverbessernder Imbettsitzer und Saufbotschafter für den Weltfrieden. Er ist aber auch ein richtig netter Typ, ein Frauenversteher, wie Paul McCartney. Mit dem teilt er dieses Händchen für die gute Melodie und warme Harmonien. Und er ist ja im Hauptberuf ein Schlagzeuger, wie Ringo Starr. Wenn sein Sohn einmal alt genug ist, wird er dessen Junior Zak bei Oasis ablösen, so gute Gene hat Zwanie.“So, jetzt aber genug des Lobes. Ich will ja auch nicht das Zwanie durch die Decke geht und mir am Ende noch auf der Nase rumtanzt. Er muß heiß bleiben, denn mit ihm will ich noch richtig Scheine machen!Ich wünsche Euch, liebe Freunde, nun eine schöne Zeit mit meinem Freund Zwanie Jonson.DJ Koze Hamburg St. Georg im Januar 2007-------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------Dear Friends, It was one Sunday that Zwanie gave me a CD with the title: "Zwanie Songs 1998-2006" A collection of some of his own compositions. Just to have a listen to. I was immediately captivated by the sweetness and beauty of the songs. For more than a year, this CD was my constant travelling companion during my sojourns in foreign lands and these wonderful songs seemed to grow and grow each time I listened to them. And my elated appreciation was not dependent on an excessive alcoholic input either, as is so often the case with music. No, these songs were magical, timeless and special. Finally, when my girlfriend asked for the third time "What is that beautiful music?", as Zwanie´s songs rotated in random shuffle mode, an idea began to germinate in my head. "The world needs Zwanie!" For a while now,my favourite record label "Buback" and I had toyed with the the idea of starting a new label together.. my own sub-label so to speak. But up until then , I was of the opinion that I had enough problems without adding my own record label to the list. Rather buy a cat. Or better still two. So they won´t be bored when I´m not there. And then, again on a Sunday, I realised that this album had to be the best and most compelling reason for getting myself going, starting a label and releasing some lovely music. Hoobert was born. Him there. Zwanie, who by the way got his name from the fact that, in the past, he was prepared to play anything for twenty Deutschmarks (Zwanni is German slang for a twenty mark note), played all the instruments on these songs (with a couple of exceptions) himself. Except this time he didn´t get twenty DM for it. Instead, I´m allowed to feed him and the 4 members of his family. Thanks again for that. It´s Zwanie´s casual way of singing and playing that makes this album so fantastically unpretentious and touches you with a sometimes merciless honesty. The sweetness and pure friendliness that flows through all these songs makes you believe Zwanie is perched on the last rung to enlightenment. My friend and pal, André Luth goes as far as to say that Zwanie is all four Beatles rolled into one: "If I may be permitted to explain. Zwanie, for me, is a real mystic. Like George Harrison. His theme is L.O.V.E but more the cosmic kind. Several of his old friends say he´s a complicated man, like John Lennon. A world-improving, in-bed-sitting, pie eyed ambassador for global peace. But he is also a really nice guy. One who understands women, like Paul McCartney whose talent for a good melody and warm harmonies he shares. And primarily, he´s a drummer, like Ringo Starr. When one of Zwanie´s sons is old enough, he´s going to take over Junior Zak´s job with Oasis. That´s how good Zwanie´s genes are." But enough compliments. I don´t want Zwanie getting all high and mighty on me. He´s got to stay hungry. After all I want to make some serious cash.
