Born April 6th 1968 Glens Falls, NY
I lived in an apartment below my grandmother and uncle Matt when I was about two years old till about five years. Matt is about eight years older than me so he was more like an older brother. He played drums and listened to a lot of cool music like Emerson Lake and Palmer, Genesis, King Crimson and all that old school prog stuff. When I wasn’t Busy taking his matchbox cars, I was watching him jam on his drums or I would hang out listening to music with him. One day when I was about eight I asked him if I could try and he let me. I took to it immediately and I’ve been hooked ever since. Any who, I had a very early influence of prog music and playing drums.
I Got my first kit when I was 11 or 12. One kick, one tom, one floor tom and a cymbal. I thought "that’s cool but wait, that’s not nearly enough drums" and so on went the quest to build the monster kit. Funny how not much has changed in that regard.
I actually did not play a whole lot until after Christmas of 1982. My grandmother, of all people, was shopping at Record Town looking to buy me a record. Ya, that’s right, a record. She asked the clerk what a 14 year old drummer might like. He handed her Rush Exit Stage Left. That’s all it took. From that moment on all I wanted was to be in a band.

1988 - Sold my kit to move to Atlanta and didn’t play again for about five years.
