Psychology, music, my daughter, books, how the world works, coffee at any time, the night sky, nature in general (and its beauty), some politics, horror movies, bajontis, going to Andy's shows, history, 2012 (though really scary), new information, inner knowledge, philosophy, why other people are the way they are (their personal history to better understand them), changing my habits, fall and winter.
Whoever thinks I'm cool enough to know. Otherwise, no one.
METAL: never nu metal or most newer metal, some not metal. Including: King Diamond, Mercyful Fate, Oh Shit They're Going to Kill Us, Opeth, IRON MAIDEN, Candlemass, Hammers of Misfortune, The Lord Weird Slough Feg, Ludicra, Slayer, old Metallica, MELTDOWN, Pink Floyd, Venom, Cradle of Filth, Blind Guardian, earlier Katatonia, Argus, Death, Helloween, Motorhead, Ozzy, Celtic Frost, Immortal Avenger, Judas Priest, Leaves' Eyes, the Police, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dystopia, Orodruin, probably a lot more. My dad would always listen to music when I was growing up, so I always will have a soft spot in my heart for (of course) Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, Carol King (Tapestry), INXS, Madonna (from the 80s), Peter Gabriel, Emerson Lake and Palmer (Brain Salad Surgery), Creedence Clearwater Revival, others elude me right now, but those things take me back. I still enjoy punk music, though I don't listen to much of it anymore. I do have a CRASS tattoo that I got when I was eighteen (even though it's a little shitty).
Horror movies and comedies and everything that combines the two. I was always a fan of cheesy horror movies, Andy got me into Dario Argento, Evil Dead Trilogy, foreign horror films, George Romero; way too many to list. I prefer ghosts to torture, but torture is okay (sometimes painful to watch). Alice in Wonderland, Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, Legend, Tim Burton films (except a couple), Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Napoleon Dynamite, What the Bleep!? Down the Rabbit Hole, Star Wars (Episodes 4,5,6), Donnie Darko, etc.
Way too often. I think the science channels are cool, Masters of Horror, The Soup, Metalocalypse, Real Time with Bill Maher, South Park, Hell's Kitchen is back!!, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends (no more noggin); too many hours wasted.
I love them. I collect them, and I don't like to write in them or bend their pages. I get nervous when I lend them out. I have 48 hard cover Stephen King novels, a bunch of reference and nonfiction books on psychology, world history, philosophy, space and quantum physics, etc. Lord of the Rings Trilogy (before it was cool), Alice in Wonderland, 1984, Great Expectations, Chronicles of Narnia (before it was cool), Edgar Allen Poe, Lord of the Flies, whichever book Ashleigh's into for bedtime- right now it's The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Many more, I'm sure.
Anyone who has learned and grown from their past.
