What is it about kids that makes them want to go in a different direction than their parents only to find that some invisible rubber band ends up snapping them back? I guess you can say that was the case with me.
Early on, I wanted to be anything other than a musician. Like maybe a rattlesnake wrangler or an astronaut, anything that didn’t require an instrument. Then one day, around the time I started high school, I picked up one of my dad’s guitars. I instantly had a feel for it. Along the way, I learned how to play piano and drums, too. Making music started to feel comfortable... sort of like a new pair of jeans that feel great once you break them in.
But, let’s fast forward a few years to when it happened. The big it. The life-altering it. I fell in love with a girl.
It was that mad, deep first love that grabs you by the throat and won’t let go. She was my inspiration for two years and the songs poured out of me like a full-force fire hose gone wild. But here’s the thing. She never really loved me back. (Yeah, that part was like having a never-ending root canal, but on the up side, I ended up with a catalog of songs inspired by raw emotion, true love and devastating heartbreak.)
Just to make things a little more bohemian, the songs were actually recorded on an ironing board. (Well, not just an ironing board, there may actually have been a laptop involved too.)
So, that brings us to today. I’m finally ready to let the rest of the world hear my music, and I’m now working on my first EP, which I hope to have available early next year. I’m also in the process of putting up a website, setting up a touring schedule and trying to get the attention of record labels and music publishing companies.
In the meantime, I’m sharing these songs with you. They are from my heart for your ears, so please let me know what you think! Comment me, message me, send up a blimp or send over your butler, whatever works best. And please spread the word to your friends. It means a lot. Thanks very much!

P.S. If you haven’t gotten your fill of Shane-related music by listening to my solo stuff, check out Avarice. I also am the lead singer for them.
