I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)London-based DJ and producer Graeme Lloyd is one of the new breed of rising stars who've cut their teeth on the London club scene and are now starting to make a big impact on the international dance music scene. Over the past three years Graeme has played at some of the biggest clubs in the world including Cream at Amnesia and Bora Bora in Ibiza; Turnmills, The Cross, Pacha, Egg and Ministry of Sound in London; and the South West Four and Electric Garden festivals to name a few.
'Twisted techno house with a driving, progressive edge' is how Graeme describes his sound and its made him a firm favourite at nights like The Gallery where he regularly joins big names like Sister Bliss, Tall Paul and Benny Benassi. He was also a resident at the infamous Starf*cker parties around London alongside the likes of Suicide Sports Club. Most recently, Graeme has secured a residency with Twisted Disco at The Cross which has seen him play alongside Claude VonStroke, King Roc and Jamie McHugh. Twisted Disco will continue at London's new Island venue in 2008, while Graeme will continue to play at The Gallery.
With such superb experience behind him, it wasn’t long before international bookings followed including dates in Norway, Australia, Ukraine and Russia in particular, where he has played in Ekaterinburg, Kazan and Ufa with great success. Graeme recently played in China for club Bon Bon in Shanghai, the home of Godsitchen.
in 2007 Graeme began to flourish as a producer and many long nights spent in the studio are yielding serious results. In particular, his collaboration with The Catz, ’Candiru’, has become a big track in the clubs. out now on Playtime Records and awarded four stars in DJ magazine, it has become a firm favourite with many of big players and Nic Fanciulli is quoted as saying, "It’s been the biggest track in my box for the last four months." ’Candiru’ was also included on a recent Jnr J cover CD for in DJ magazine.
Another production project is a collaboration with Tania von Pear under the name Velvet. Already causing waves with their cheeky re-work of Grace Jones' 'Slave to the Rhythm' and their first live set headlining The Cross, it clearly won't be long before you're hearing much more from these two with a flurry of remixes and singles in the pipeline. If that's not enough, Graeme is also the founder of the Subbass DJ Academy.
2008 will see Graeme release tracks on Devoré Recordings, one his first solo release and the other in partnership with another of London's emerging talents Ben Dela-Peña. Further collaborations with The Catz are also planned, while Graeme is currently hatching plans to launch his own label StripBac Records. The Lablel launch will be on May 30th at Pacha, with the first release RocknRoll out in June!!
