It was not supposed to happen like this, but it did. Shenanniganz, Paul and Trevor's previous band, was scheduled to play at Volume CDs on November 3rd, 2006; however, their guitarist quit the band a few days before. With just three days before the show, a big deciscion was made-they accquired bassist, and long time friend, Mitchel Rarick. The three of them wrote and practiced four brand new songs before the show. They were a band. They were 13 Days Remaining!
The name came one day before practice when Mitchel was playing a video game. It was almost like a sign from God when the screen read "19 Days Remaining." That was it! Trevor and Mitch switched the numbers and the rest is history.
The show was a success. A free show in Virginia Beach brought over 30 close friends and family members to a whole in the wall CD exchange store, Volume. But the music did not stop there. A few months later, they played their first big gig at the Peppermint Beach Club's Battle of the Bands. After a well played show in front of hundreds, the band quickly gained their reputation, and less than a year after their first show, they found themselves on stage at Norfolk's finest venue, the Norva.
Everything was working in their favor. By February 2008, two more battles had gome and gone, as well as many other shows, leaving them as the first and second runners up in Hampton Roads. After their high school talent show in April of 2008, the band began to grasp the realities of the future. Drummer Paul Jones would be on his way to college. Trevor- becoming an EMT. And Mitchel- attending a trade school in the fall.
After a drought of shows over the summer, they made time to schedule on last show before they went their seperate ways which would be played where they started out, Volume CD Exchange. As for now, the rest is history, and long live the legacy of 13 Days Remaining!
