I am a Ugandan disabled male citizen, a naturally talented musician born to Mr. Joseph Kaboggoza and Mrs. Margaret Kaboggoza who died in 1990 (May her soul rest in Internal peace).I started my music career way back in primary five at Namalemba Boarding Primary School and was very active during the school in-house music competitions although I could not be given chance to show my music potential in the school choir as choir masters did not pick interest in my music talent potential and could not tell me why but found out that I could not give a uniform walking with others due to nature of my walking. I surely had a lot of interest in music as sometimes I could force my way on the school truck to escort the school choir to district and national school music and Drama competitions. The behaviour of the school choir masters at a certain extent disappointed me and gave up with the school choir but later joined the church youth choir at Holy Cross Catholic Church Parish during my primary holidays where at least I was given full attention to present and explore my music potential although was entirely limited to church music. As I went on with my secondary education, I lost all the music interest although I was committed to Bugembe Students Catholic Association (BUSCA) and the Uganda Catholic Charismatic Renewal activities that involved Youth workshops at the Youth Centre in Jinja and Emmaus Centre, Katikamu. In 2003, I picked interest in the music career once again and thus got down and composed songs and as a speak now, I have over 100 well composed and written songs in Luganda my local language, Swahili an East African regional language, English and French.Currently, I have recorded two albums of six songs each The 1st album has songs like the album title song Omukyala W' Africa, a contemporary song, These Days", a Hip Hop English song, a dance hall song "Ningependa", a French gospel song "Le Seigneur Descend" asking the almighty God to listen to the cries of His people. It has been possible to do the best with the help of Tony Houls and Paddy Kayiwa both of Dream Studios in Kamwokya, Craze and Moses of now the dismantled Gospel Jam Records in Tanzania, Adela of Namex Sound Studio and Wise Mad of in Tanzania.CHALLENGES
It has not been easy for me to promote my music in Uganda since I finished with the studio work, which is recording the songs. I have tried to give/distribute my CD to different radio stations in Uganda hence promote and give publicity to my music but have been disappointed as the songs are not played. When I tried to ask my fellow musicians, they told me you know, you have to pay the Djs to have your music played.I need promotion, publicity and moral support to be able be focused on my music careerMeanwhile, I use Ronnie Ooh as my stage name. You can listen to my music on www.myspace.com/ronniespider.Readers,
