Sam Dechenne is a trumpet player from Portland, OR and now resides in Boston, MA. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and performs as a soloist and with many different bands and ensembles in a variety of music styles all over the Northeast.
Most of his time and energy goes into his role as trumpet player with the progressive-reggae band John Brown's Body (JBB). On his down time from touring he also plays for the klezmer/jazz/reggae fusion group "Klezwoods", the Quintessential Brass Quintet, the Beantown Swing Orchestra, and other Boston based musical groups. In addition to live performing he records for many bands across the northeast and pacific northwest.
He is bandleader/composer for the Of An Oak jazz group and Snag Sam, playing arrangements of jazz standards and original funk and jazz music.
