Mission Statement
tiny creatures is
a desire to find a way to live our own way,
to have a sense of community,
to see each other while on earth,
to share our lives, our pain, our talents, our thoughts,
to capture a moment in time that will be lost or forgotten,
and to package it with beauty, love, pain and all that we can feel as humans.
with tiny creatures,
we are making this small community of los angeles artists available
to the wider world,
or perhaps, the wider world
available to us.

Creatures is a community center.
Tiny Creatures upholds expression as a neccissity to human life and
human existence.
Tiny Creatures glorifies expression and communication, not the ego.
Tiny Creatures is not to be used to commodify art or music, but to be
used as an instrument of communication.
Tiny Creatures is to be used as a way to get the piece of art or music

Tiny Creatures Presents
"Can't Help It!"
Pieces by young aritsts born in 1984 living in the community of Echo Park. All have immigrated here inspired by the burgeoning echo park culture, influenced by those already raised or living in the area and by the Tiny Creatures space itself. These young artists have conspired to focus on the non-self, thus commenting on space, environment, and ideas of displacement. Artist include Drew Denny, Courtney Garvin, Ramona Gonzales (curator), Kate Stewart, and Oscar Vardi.
Opening Reception
May 26th, 2007
6p-midnight
Closing Reception
July 7th, 2007
7-11p
*Artists Presentations, Poetry Readings, and Movie Screenings to be announced.
"The most interesting part of this show to me is to see these young artists previously overshadowed by their predecessors now coming into light and having a chance to express themselves uniquely and individually. The process of growth and community encouragement and the influence they have on each other is very interesting. It's also interesting to see how the opportunity given by a space such as Tiny Creatures can encourage such growth and creativity in people." - Janet Kim, owner of Tiny Creatures
