As he strives to create catchy, hummable melodies, Gil embarked upon his musical journey at the tender age of seven. Learning to play the piano during his most poignant, childhood years, Gil also began taking guitar lessons following the death of John Lennon. Framing his music with lyrics that juxtapose the lighthearted nature of girls, summer and surfing with an introspective, melancholy feel, Gil began writing in 1985.
